She's a little bent....but a keeper

It was pretty cold in south Louisiana today, but I still was able to get out and swing a coil for a couple of hours. I hunted an old home site that I have been to many times, found nothing the first hour then went to a spot that produced a few old coins. First target I hit was this 1853o Seated Half Dime, first for me. I found my first seated dime this year but never a half. Signal was more like an Indian head penny, 11-34, 12-34. She's a little bent, couldn't get a good picture. That was the only coin I found today. Did find 3 old flat buttons, 2 with shanks.

Nice Find!

Very nice coin Bill !
I found an 1857 Half Dime last summer that I thought was an Indian Cent before I dug it

Also, I've straighted a lot of coins by putting them in between two pieces of thinner hardwood - (approx. 1/2" thick) - and hitting them with a hammer.
The wood protects the coins surface. This works really well on Silver coins - because they bend so easy.

Happy Holidays ! --- Mark

At this angle, the only curves I can see Bill is the BEAUTIFUL curves of a SEATED LADY!!!! Congratulations on an excellent find! Thanks for the pictures.
