First silver coin for the year for me, fourth JFK half! Heres the story, It was pouring rain early, so I hit the entrance to a school where the busses drop off the kids, it has a nice overhang, so I figured I could duck up under and dodge out between squalls. That worked pretty good and I just swept up surface clad.
Then I went over to another school when the rain looked like it was stopped for good, and hit the football field...I've got silver dimes and one Q along with 3 buff nickles outta here before, so I actually set the machine up like you are SUPPOSED to, Ground balanced, ran the sens up to the high 70's, still stable and easy, trouble is, the depth of the silver is beyond the reach of my screwdriver, so a fellow has to be very concise with a knife for the sod, and then go in with the screwdriver to locate. Luckily, the field is mowed, but not active, and the school is only used for head start or something, so I suppose a guy could dig a hole, I just havn't wanted to up til now. I'll take some of you deep silver seekers to this spot someday. 80 coins, 7.78 total.
Side note: article in the local news this am, about a policeman 10 years younger than me who died from a strange high fever Friday night. I'm still burning up and lungs are full of butter, if a guy lays down, it gets worse..other than that, What a Great day!
