Silver Dimes Found At An Old Church

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Last Monday I had to meet my friend Ed (Ed has a White's XLT) on a logging job that we're doing about 1 1/2 hrs. north of where I live.
The night before - I decided to leave real early in the morning and hit an old abandoned church that's - "kind of - on the way".
This church is located in a real small town - about thirty miles from my house.
I got to the church at 7:00 AM - early enough to get a two hour hunt in - before driving up to the job.

The first coin was a Rosie Dime - then some clad - then a Mercury Dime - then a few more newer coins.
I put all nine coins on the tailgate of my pick-up truck - only two were older coins - a 1945 Mercury Dime and a 1946 Rosie Dime.

The cool thing about finding these two coins on the same day and on the same site is that ...
1945 was the last year that Mercury Dimes were minted and 1946 was the first year that Roosevelt Dimes were minted.

Silver's always nice to find. And both of those are beauts! I liked your comment about a site being "kind of - on the way". Once I get in my truck, if I can get there and back in the same day, it's "on the way". HH Randy
