silver finds need ID

[Caretaker me]

dug these two silver items in a field about 3 feet apart, they are 3 by 4 inches big, and stamped sterling, any idea's thanks

Maybe a decorative piece off of a saddle.... just wild guess.

I noticed only one of the pieces is marked sterling and a number under it I cant totally make out. From the nearly identical bends in the metal one could assume it is one item in two pieces. Could it be a napkin ring????
