So, yes the silver has dropped way off. I remember hunting a small part of a Boy Scout camp when I was 18 in the 1980's and my friend and I found over $25 of silver alone.
There is still plenty of out there, The Manticore allows you to hunt next to concrete walls with rods in it and poles. These are the areas that could not be hit before. also, I pull silver dimes out of old school sites on the slopes overlooking the field as mentioned above at 8"+. They have been hunted before but the Equinox or Manticore gives you those couple of inches more that lets you find them deep.
Homesites are the best now. Look for recently abandoned houses from the sixties and before also. Make sure it is not a drug house though.
Look at those old hunted sites and see where it is difficult to hunt- under bushes, around metal woods next to the site. Remember, the site looked way different 70 years ago when that silver was dropped. My father told me that all silver coins were basically out of normal circulation my 1967. so 58 years ago.
