Site gives up more silver

Went back to the honey hole and wasnt discouraged.Found my second barber dime of the year and 2 more washingtons.1 of these wuarters was underneath a rusted nut:sad: but this amazing machine got that chirp and im sure if i had been hunting with anything else i would have missed.Hail to the etrac :clapping:If anyone can :help: me with a method to clean it would be appreciated. I took an old friend of mine with me and he found a green indian head within a foot of where i dug my 2 standing libertys and buffalo nickles thursday.I have yet to find any yet and it was inches away from me but i did scan it in the ground and got an idea of what to look for.Im sure i went over it and just didnt dig the low numbers:rage:.Dont know if i should give area a break or clean out now?I did get video of both hunts and once again if i was close to labador bob i would buy him some beers:beers:.Thanks again!Charlie

Well if it is a common date Washington you can use baking soda and water. I prefer electroylsis because it doesn't remove the old patina, but being a common date, I would just wet the coin put baking soda on it and rub between my fingers to clean it. Just never do that to a good date or valuable coin. Great hunt!

Man! that site is a good one. Have you sent Labrador Bob his commission check yet?

Congratulations once again Charlie! Let us know when you get the videos uploaded and just paste the link here so we know.

With nice old coins like that I would open up your discrimination and look for any target that

A. Hits with fairly consistent numbers and shows some depth.
B. then switch on quick mask with an open screen and check for the same fairly consistent numbers out of the iron range.
C. Then pinpoint to see if you get a small coin size object with the pinpoint mode.

If you hit all three of these criteria DIG IT! even the lower numbers and numbers around the 17 line (not always 12) Tokens and good odd stuff might show up.
that is my system for digging out the odd coins and tokens along with some watsits in an old site like that.

good luck,
utahshovelhead
