" Sizing Mode " - Pinpointing is Great !

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
After reading several posts in this forum about how some E-Trac users like pinpointing in - "Sizing Mode" - over the factory default - "Standard Mode" - I decided to try it.
I switched over to Sizing Mode about a month ago - the first few times out - I really didn't like it - then after using it for approx. 50 hrs. or so - I'll probably never go back to the Standard pinpointing mode again !

I'm still learning the features on my E-Trac - but this is what I've found ...

"Standard" pinpointing mode keeps zeroing in smaller and smaller with each pass - till it finds the center of the target.

"Sizing" - pinpointing mode tells you the actual size of the target. It turns on and off very abruptly when you pass over a smaller object like a coin or a ring.
The signal stays on and drags out when you pass over something larger - like compressed aluminum can - that will often give you the same FE (12) CON (45) - target ID numbers as a Dime. In my opinion ... you save a lot of time by digging less bad targets in Sizing mode.

Hope I've explained this OK ! -- Mark
