Well I am just a owner of a MXT now, I had both my detectors with me down by Lawton OK. a couple days ago doing some prospecting. I was using my trusty MXT, was about a hundred yards from my truck and some one helped there self to my GMT. I guess I can't blame anyone but my self I should have locked my doors....:rage: So all I can say is Merry Christmas you rotten thief.....:rant:
 
That sucks, I hope the creep that took it gets hauled in for digging in a cemetery. I live in a fairly small town but I still take out anything of value that I have in the truck before going hunting. I even make sure that any relics or finds that I may have left in the truck get taken out before the next hunt.
 
Well I wasn't planing on getting to far from the truck but got caught up in the hunt.
 
I'm sorry to hear the bad news Bob. Do you have the Ser.# and/or pictures. The chances are the thief doesn't want to hunt, but to sell it.
 
That's terrible. Make sure you report it stolen and get that serial number to Whites as stolen. Any service work on that machine, makes it yours again. (I had a DFX taken a few years back!) Haven't gotten it back but...still waiting. Good luck!!
 
I hate to hear news like that Bob. I always lock my truck no matter where I am. I hope you reported it to the police. Put an ad in the paper offering a reward for its return. HH Dennis in Idaho
 
Man, I sure hate to read when stuff like this happens. I know I'd have a cow if someone stole my MXT. I'm glad to learn that if we submit the serial number to White's, they'll hold it for the owner. That's good to know. Hang in there Hillbilly Bob...it may turn up.

Had some $#!@head break into my car for change sitting on the counsel..
 
There is someone always ready to ruin your day. As people said they probably have no use for it and will sell it cheap. I like to take both my detectors but when I'm in Texas I have to use my pickup. When I'm there I'm afraid someone will break in (extended cab) to get the one I left behind so I only take one. It's a pain because some times I have to change between a big and small coil. I'm really sorry. Rob
 
Really sorry to hear things like that. Probably a crackhead. I have a pickup also but I have a toolbox I lock my extra machine up in when I take it.
I was reading in the paper today where a burgler was working a well to do neighborhood around Miami. Seems cops caught up to him and when he fled he jumped into a man made lake and an alligator finished the crook off before the cops could do anything.
Well, sorry for your lose, hope your insurance will cover some of it.

I had just finished a hunt and threw my gear in the back of the truck. I was warming up the engine and sipping on some hot thermos coffee, then after the coffee I drove straight home and onto the driveway. My detector was missing when I got out of the truck to unload my gear. I guess when I was doing coffee someone walked by behind the truck and I didn't notice.
The detector was almost 2 weeks old, happened the day before x-mas (24 Dec). It was kind of a x-mas gift to myself. Was!
Another time, had a new detector and I thought I had it in the back of the truck. When I went to back out - crunch!!!:veryangry:
Since then I kept the machines in the truck cab - now using SUV mostly. No problems since - but when leaving extra detectors in the SUV, I still don't like the idea as I use headphones and sometimes walk a ways from the vehicle and out of site. I guess since I don't have a car w/trunk, I'll have to start covering any detectors left in the vehicle, even though I have an alarm on each vehicle - except the motorcycle. Yes I have broken down detectors and hauled them in the sissy bar luggage bags - now I would hate for someone messing with my bike.
Sad - just sad and I still remember how angry I felt - sorry to hear it.
 
My DFX that was stolen, was most likely taken by a local tweeker. (Live in a very small town so... we know them all!) Took the thing to work and hunted the shaved topsoil ring around the area where an old building stood. Had a horrible commute home, was dog tired and left the car unlocked. That's all it took! Still had a 5900 Di Pro to run with but man...took a while to get another DFX! Sleazy people sure get around. Bear Traps????? Nah.....I'd probably hurt a creature better than them. (Like rats or possums.):devil:
 
I'm very sorry to hear of the theft, Bob. That kind of thing tends to leave a person feeling violated. I think all one can do in a case like this is remember that it's just a thing, an object, that eventually can be replaced. I know that addresses only the physical loss. It does little for the feelings if you take the theft as a personal assault. Try not to; it was just greed and immorality at work.

We comfort ourselves with the reminder that most people are not like that, don't we? Regardless, I am sorry to hear of it, Bob. The best revenge is to go out and enjoy yourself.
 
I keep my stuff insured and I found out yesterday that they will pay $400.00 towards the detector. so that helps allot, but its still like losing a old friend I have had it for 10 years and it was still a great detector. The other bad thing was I was 3 hours from home when it happened and you know I beat myself up all the way home.STUPID....STUPID....STUPID...:cry:....: I always try to keep my truck locked, just goes to show you.
 
Bob sorry to here that. Those are the ones you would like to catch in the act. Here in Sacramento they would have taken the truck to.:thumbdown:
 
So sorry to hear about it Bob. I like what apikoros I couldn't have said it better. Also, you did report it. Didn't you? It might show up at a pawn shop. It's so sad to hear/read about all the massive outrage of crime lately. Peoria is getting very bad and I won't go there by myself during the day.........nor the night. Hope everything works out for you, Nancy
 
I could say "lets hope he gets a signal and digs into the crust layer of a 100 foot mine shaft, aaaaahhhhhhhhh, whooooomp:stretcher:" or that you by some freak chance run into a bloke who see,s you detecting and says (as you recognise its yours) "hey man, can you give me a few poiters on using this thing:punch:" or that he digs up a lump of dirt covered arsenical pyrites and licks it to see what it is :help:, or even that he detects a signal under a tree log and a rattler jumps out to greet him :surprised: and then bites him:help::, but I would never ever suggest such fates would befall such people as that, would I?:unsure:
 
Sorry to hear about your stolen detectors. I have to go to Norman OK. couple times a year and I always take two detectors with me . I think now I will just take my MXT. I hope you get your detectors back somehow.

Hey bob,sorry about that.You might check with with hock shops and have them keep there eyes open,somebody trying to make some fast cash.Had someone steal some tools from my truck years ago and they turned up at the hock shop in town.:angry:Try tying a pit bull in the back.
