Sunray X-5 Coil sniffs a GEORGEOUS ring out of the trash:yikes:

Thanks tab-nabit. I have not had the opportunity or the pleasure of putting any time on one until recently.

That is one of the prettiest rings I have seen pulled out of the ground in a long time Bryce. The cameo looks to be Mother of pearl and I think it might date back to the Victorian age. Fantastic find....

Thanks for responding Larry. The multiple junk targets that were a few inches above it in the hole... were ancient...so I think it is indeed a very old piece.
This is also a park which I have been fortunate enough...and lucky enough...to find 3 seated coins at this year...so it's definitely an old park.

Hope all is well with you and Nancy. I plan on hunting until the ground freezes to the 3" level or so...then that's it. I'll fight it as long as I can though:)
Take care

I used baking soda... and toothbrushed the snot out of it:cool:
I then used a little lemon juice on it and let it soak for a few minutes... before giving another brushing under warm water.
I was hoping to meet up with you before the weather changed for the worse...but I think it's already done it:confused:

That is a one of a kind find bud. A stunning ring and you did a good job cleaning it.
It was fun hunting with you yesterday nd more fun seeing that little X5 coil pull some coins from the garbage.
In a week or we can hit my cabin site because the farmer worked some new ground up a litle closr to the foundation. We might find another ol one or 2 . Later bud

Thanks D. We definitely need to hit that site before the ground freezes....especially if there might be a new little strip of ground we haven't hit yet:clapping:
Ask that farmer feller' to fire up the tractor one more time and disc us up a new path to some goodies.
Sounds like he already has made us a new little patch though:please:

It was a thrill to see it come out of the hole after all the trash crap that came out first. Stuff just kept coming out and I started to get ticked off:cool:...then the ring popped out.:)
Take care buddy.

glad to hear your good luck with the x-5==== i have the '' sunray s-5 intruder'' on my sovxs== great coil

Just wanted to say that after reading this post, I ran out and bought a X-5. Went to a small park and on the 5th hit I dug up a "flattened penny with the Lord's prayer".....how weird is that? Thanks for the great post. Oh, by the way, the X-5 was on my XS.
