Tesoro Tejon and Vaquero

Flintstone

Well-known member
Hi All, How much deeper is the Tejon and Vaquero than the Deleon and Cortes? I am thinking about trade. I like vdi detectors, my hearing is very bad and can,t use tones much. I have both the Tejon and Vaquero would a trade of one of these be a good trade? Both of my detectors are almost new. Can the coils on mine work on the others? Thanks Flintstone

I would not under no circumstances trade the two very best and deepest detectors made by tesoro for any detector made,no way!.

The Cortes and Deleon are not as deep as the Vaquaro and Tejon . And the extra coils you have for the T and V , will not work on the Cortes and Deleon . I would try and get better headphones with volume control and keep what you have . JMO

every pare of headphones i put on those two detectors blows my ears ours!.No wonder you can't hear nothing, you blew your eardrums out like the rest of us,join the club!.

I think your "V" is broke?...I had a Cortez..numbers jumped so much it drove me crazy!..(SUM???).....If yours is deeper than a Vaquero....I would keep it!

The Vaquero and Tejon are the deepest that Tesoro has to offer in my opinion. The Tejon has ground balance in the discriminate mode which is a plus, and adds a little depth to it. The only other grn bal in disc side is the new Outlaw. But the Outlaw isn't as deep as ones with the H.O.T. circuity (Cibols-Vaq-Tejon) Just a thought. shortribs.

If your Cortes is getting deeper than your Vaquero, then you have an issue with your Vaquero. The Vaquero is a far deeper machine. Also, the Cortes in Disc mode has a factory preset ground rejection. You cannot tune perfectly in Disc mode to your ground. The Vaquero can.

Well it's true.....I have had many tesoros and other brand x machines over the years...I mostly hunt old worn out parks for them deepies!! And coin/relic hunt old home sites...On a relic hunt I prefer my "V"....but deep coins "cortes" I think I may have a hot one? This is my second "V" and I do think the first one may have been a little deeper.I don't believe there is any thing wrong with it...I dont use "sum mode" very often..unless i'm playing...There isn't any machine out on the market that can i.d a deep coin properly anyway...Now keep in mind this is running in disc mode....

Thanks everyone for your help. I just have trouble trying to here, i have hearing aids in both ears and still don,t hear sounds very good. I can hear the beeps but can,t tell if they are any deference in them. I will just keep trying to do the best i can with what i have. Do you lose much deep if you knot out pull tabs? Can you steel get good depth? Thanks Flintstone

Dear Flintstone,

Using of metal detector in the field, take out thinking about air test, is the multiple system.
1. Hunter nature- if is no patient, it s a problem. Is not able searching, in reality.
2. Hunter style. - Mistakes: swinging too fast or quick, swing on curve - high ends, and coil is too high, more than one inch.
3. Detector - too lazy, ability indexed (see)target. Note from last rally, targets 8mm, deep 0-2 centimetres, TID machine. one guy comment (argued comment): I seeing it, and this (4 letter word) does not. Target was on surface.....
4. Coil - Interaction with detector, and ground and environment. Thinking about it in target consequences. Every time you can move back with other, is not it.... you will surprise.
5. Adjustment of detector - too positive is good for black or white info, but you lost border signals and probably you lost majority of target due lack of separation. Note: You hear big iron, and, be aware, if is in place any good target, you CANNOT hear it....
6. Ground and mineralisation general - Ground balancing ability is a condition. In the meadow, for example, now, fall is coming, are sand grains salted. Last Thursday, I was in these areas, and set of my Tejon was (fortunately no electric wires there): Coil: 10x12 SEF, GB negative light, VCO sound control, Threshold max, sens max, Disk #1 All metal, Disk #2 significantly under foil. Big grass there, and I press coil down what I was able, short swing curve
