The first time must have been luck.

I returned to the church where I found 10 silvers and 16 wheat's in three hours. I started where I left off figuring I would have the same results as the first time there. After three hunts of 2 hours each I recovered 21 wheat's one is 1909 and two more Merc's. It is not what I was expecting after the first visit to this site. What are the odds that I picked the spot I did the first time I hunted it. I was using the same settings and the same swing speed.

That's still a very nice hunt, keep digging those wheat's the silver will come. :clapping:

No. That is not surprising, and it is not luck or any such thing. Its just the way it goes. I've done the same thing many times in many spots. I don't know if it has to do with ground conditions, trash conditions, coil swing, angle of approach, but am suspectin all the above and more so. I've taken coins out next to places I have dug before, sometimes within a foot or so. I may be wrong, but I'll bet you find some more and in the same spots.

Me, I would tell you to go back over the hot spot again and go slow and consentrate on the good signals...I find the deepies are short in the normal mode and can be missed.

Ditto here. I think most of us start where we think looks like the best spot and work out from there. I know I do.
