the recovery speed

hello i got a chance to buy an etrac but i have a slight doubt. on youtube norfolk wolf does a recovery speed test with a nail and a coin with the explorer se and its about 10 inchs roughly which is quite bad compare
to the other machines he tests. is the etrac alot quicker ive got a fisher f70 at the moment which i like but i dont think you can compare it to an etrac its just the recovery speed thats put me off. if anyone knows
please let me know before i part with all the cash.

Recovery is faster on the e trac but not as fast as the f 75. I didn't like the traditionally slow recovery speeds of the Minelabs I had prior but the great capability of the Minelab is what got me hooked. Now I am lovin the E trac...much faster recovery, great pinpointing, very deep, very accurate...now all I need is a switch to make only the old coins made of silver and gold to sound off!! give one a test first my friend but spend more than 5 minutes with it.

good luck

The Etrac is faster the SE.

From the success people are having on here, there are a number of ways to turbo charge the ETrac further.

Go open screen and two tone ferrous. I have tweaked my expert settings also to remove some additional filtering and processing
but this is a personal thing.

People have posted loads on here how these settings seem to pick out the goodies near, very close and also touching ferrous junk.

I can't remember the exact video that the Wolf did but I suspect he was in a factory setting.

The SE is still a good machine!!

I have several of Norfolks videos, the recovery speed I presume is
just in factory mode, but, the minelabs are a bit slow.
They were made to be hunted slow, the capabilities of the minelabs
far outweigh the recovery speed.
And they also have a recovery setting to speed it up if you want.
It also depends on the discrimination you are running.
as someone else said,if you are in ferrous wide open screen
there is no recovery time.
hope this helps.

I own and have put hundreds of hours on the F75 but would not trade my E-Ttrac for 3 f75s and be without another E-Trac. Infield results speak for any machine and if you research the quantity and quality of finds made by dedicated E-Trac users your decision should be a very simple one,Ray.
PS In heavy trash is where the E-Trac shines the best meaning the recovery rate must be very good.

Questions also. What types of sites are your main areas to search and what are the primary targets you are seeking?

thanks for all the replys i mainly do ploughed fields looking for the hammered and roman coins my f70 has done really well so far i feel the etrac is the way to go just when
i watch norfolk wolf recovery speed test i was abit worried i didnt want to waste the money. cant wait to get the etrac i just hope they dont bring out a new machine to keep
up with the deus.

Norfolk w's tests are all well & good, but the recovery tests are done above ground, also to be realistic you would need to know the programe /settings used.
From what I understand, the e trac has good separation, and great deapth, may not be as fast as some, but has a very strong following of experienced detectorists.
Thats enough to convince me.
