Think I Found The Old Home Place

Yes but I’m perplexed not complaining love old buttons cause these put site at early mid 1800s just strange on no other kinds of artifacts yet. All the buttons are in a small area further I go out not getting any signals. But still lots of average to go over. May have to wait till fall/winter unless can get a cooler day here and there

Well, look at it this way…. At least you are still making some finds there.
That is enough to keep you motivated.
Is it possible it has been detected by others?

No doesn’t have any sign previously been detected. Very private land couple hundred acres. Doing research think this was land owned by Alexander H Stephen’s grandfather also name Alexander who originally was from Scotland then to Pennsylvania mid 1700s then to Georgia after War. May be why several buttons are British

Also found this iron object and old black glass in same hole. Never seen anything like it but I imagine it’s some type farming related tool.

Back at it this morning couple hours before it got above 85. We found 3 Flat buttons and an old 2ring bullet. Looked to be .36 caliber. One button marked BEST and 3 Stars. Finally a piece of broken silver jewelry.

Nice score! I always try to think 1800s style.. where would I hide my money? Probably inside the home, buried in one (or more) of the corners or under the big flat stone of the fireplace.

Weird site my brother found one of the buttons 8” down and I have found them as shallow as 2. The lack of spoon bowls or other kitchen items strange. Probably in a dump site nearby. The little pieces of silver jewelry was nice

This is the button total so far and the only iron buckle I have found. One good thing no plow blades so far. But this is in a 60’x60’ area. Couple of the small iron signals I dug have been square nails.
