Three Ghost Town Treks, one Old Resort site, and a handfull of City Parks provide some "testing ground" for the Tesoro Tej

Twice during August I traveled from Oregon City, Oregon to my favorite Northern Utah ghost town with a primary intent each time to work with the new Tej

Life goes on. I just try to do my best to help any detectorist learn their equipment and enjoy the hobby. Thought I have done a bit of good to help tesoro along the way on their 'Official' Tesoro Forum. Guess any "official" or "unofficial" help for Tesoroists will be found here at Findmall from now on.
Hope you all can get out today!

I went to the "other forum" to see what comments might be made to this post by Monte, and it was DELETED over there.
What gives with that juvenile behavior "over there"? If there was something really negative about Monte's post I could see it's removal as being justifiable, but Monte seems to praise the Tejon more than he dislikes it.
Explain yourselves please. You sponder that forum too. Don't you? You are acountable in "our" eyes, not Mister TR who gets finger happy and deletes.

Very interesting and well written evaluation!
The most objective comparison I have seen yet.
I was particularly interested in comments on the machine I use Eldorado and The machine I am most interested in aquiring MXT(I now have the urge to try a TID unit).

For some time I have been trying to decide between the Tejon and the Eldorado w/7" coil. In your report you state that "in the best of conditions it might lose a tiny bit of depth to the Tejon, but get slightly better depth and performance on the black sand river beaches than does the Tejon."
Would this advantage hold true for salt water ocean beaches?
Right now I'm leaning toward the Eldorado.
Thanks again.

Don't sweat becoming another of the "dreaded outcasts" This forum has become more of an asset to Tesoro than anything provided on the Depot ever dreamed of becoming. Nuff Sed on that subject.
Thanks for the time and effort on that post Monte. Not that I necessarily agree with all of what you said, but this kind of material goes a long way in providing more of what is needed on the BETTER forums on metal detecting. I personally like to see more quantitative comparisons between individual machines across differing types of ground matrix, but at the same time realize how much time and effort it takes to do that kind of comparison in supplying "real numbers" in side-by-side evaluations.

many of the conditions where the comparisons were made, unfortunately, will never be encountered by the average hunter...
I bet it's not going to last long on the other Tesoro forum.

I have a few minutes before I have to head to the bank and then off to hunt, and you've mentioned two models I happen to favor.
Now, don't get me wrong, the Tej

They fully support the actions of the owner over there. How else can you explain their continued inaction...

I did a little closer comparison of a few models against each other but didn't want this to get into too much of a model war, so to speak.
The Tej

I know what you're saying. Yet, many people never get to "Relic Hunt" or "Pit Dig" with their detectors for CW relics. Not all of those "relic hunters" are going to cruise a Florida beach after some choice storm 'cuts.'
I had a Tej

This is a good informative Tesoro forum...except for one thing...this constant.. mindless...b.s...about posts over there and over and over again what go's on over there.
I don't give a sh--! what goes on over there...if I want to know what goes on over there...I'll go over there.
The only thing being accomplished by these stupid posts is to take up space and lower this forum to the level of that forum "over there" give it a freaking break.
If Tesoro says that is the official Tesoro forum...live with it...they have to.
If you want to go over there and get yourself all puffed up...good for you...but keep it to yourself...I for one don't want to hear it.
Thats my opinion! Good hunting all!!!

What in the world is going on at the other official Tesoro site? Now it sure looks like Monte has been banned from that forum! Monte has provided more Tesoro and detecting help and information than anyone I've ever seen post over there! The long report that Monte just posted on both offical Tesoro forums while appreciated by those on Findmall was almost immediately deleted on the Treasure Depot. I'm sure many there would have been very interested in it. The new Tejon was presented in a very favorable light when compared to the many other units mentioned and I would think from my reading it that it will perk up folks interest in the Tejon.
I'm sure many will agree with me when I say it's my humble opinion that your continued sponsorship of the Treasure Depot is hurting Tesoro and Tesoro sales. When Tesoro users and folks who are seriously looking at a Tesoro product have their posts deleted on the TD when they ask a simple question about one model or another it sure turns them off to Tesoro. It seems as though quite a few of the folks who have that happen to them find this forum and are given helpful courteous answers to their questions. And Monte among others here are always ready and willing to help anyone get answers to their questions or suggestions on how to get the ultimate performance from their Tesoro.
Thanks for taking the time to read my humble opinions, ArtWI

Monte,
I totally agree with you on the Explorer's heavy standard coil. I purchased another one a month ago and have yet to use the standard coil
In fairness, it might have sounded louder (better?) If the Explorer

You spent there for the sake of Tesoro customers and would be customers for a slap in the face. You provided more actual usable information than any manual could dream of providing. Most know that. At least that will free up some of your time for detecting! HH

And Tesoro management seems to be stuck right in the middle of both analogies.

that you were deleted, It was a lot of work on your part for what seemed to be a real world look at some different detectors. I saw nothing offensive towards the Tejon and may even think more of it than before. For those that don't like the 3 and 1/2 turn GB pot I saw some miniature 10 turn pots with a 1/8 th inch shaft size advertised somewhere. I'd have to look. If the Tejon does not have a uniquely made pot it might be fairly easy to swap out. They were about 7-8 dollars and came in different ohmages. Of course warrenty might go too.
