Had a great hunt today. Went to this little church. it was just going to be a short spot on the way the an old public watering hole I had found. About 15 minuted into the hunt, I get a good repeatable signal from approx 6" down. It's partially fried, but I can make an 1865 date on an Indian Head Penny! Needles to say, I decided to stick around. I must say, this was the 1st day I used my Predator Tools Raptor, and it is AMAZING. It was the most effortless digging I've ever had. I may retire the old model 85. Anyway, I get another strong signal near the IH I had just dug, and out popes an old knife (Think it is a Case, found another one latter. A little smaller than the 1st knife, but same handle and everything.) Later in the day came an 1893 IH (in great condition by the way) a 1945 Merc., a Barber dime so worn I can't make out anything by the design on the back, and 5 wheaties. This spot is promising. I've only covered about 1/3 of the grounds, and know there has got to be more old silver. I am thankful I had a beautiful 52 degree day here in Illinois to enjoy my favorite hobby.
