Not the kind of things I usually look for but was contacted about a farmer that had lost one of the pieces off his disc while working. The part was going to cost over $700 to replace. I told them I would be out sunday(yesterday). I get there and the farmer tells me he will take me to the field he lost it in which was about 1/2 mile away. They had searched the whole field and came to believe it had been shoved under the dirt when it came off. I told him I would find it as the thing was huge and I knew it would give an overload signal. What I didnt realize was just how much ground there was to cover in just this one small field of his 1200 acres..
Well, low and behold, a little over 4 hours in I found it. Wouldnt you know it was in a section that was in standing water and mud.
The best part about my good deed was now being given permission to hunt the whole property which is very old and has a home from the 1860s on it and one that was tore down years ago. He also told me he would get me permission to go hunt at some of his friends farms which he said have houses sitting on them that are older than his. He also gave me two packss of steaks from a cow they had just butchered. It was a great day and netted me enough spots to hunt for the next couple years which is worth more than anything to me!
