I had nowhere to go so I went back to my grandpa's house that was built in 1950. I didn't expect much maybe a silver rosie or merc that I had missed before when I hunted it 3 yrs ago. This is a very small yard in town, all the houses were built in the 1950's on his street.
I had over half the front yard done without even a clad coin, and then I get a real deep dime signal that is buried on the depth meter of my etrac. I am thinking why a dime would be so deep at a 1950 house, I walk all around it and it sounds sweet from all directions. I dug down about 9-10 inches and I see a silver disk. I am thinking maybe a merc, so I grab some water pour it on the dime and I see "one dime" on the back. I think, cool a barber, then flip it over and I see a beautiful SEATED lady!!!! 1889 seated dime!
I am almost speechless....I then found a very worn 1887 indian about 3 feet away, and a flat button in the same small area......nothing else old in the yard was found except for a wheat penny, and it was 1957.
I found the St. Christopher medallion around the back of the house. I am still in total amazement. You just NEVER know where your going to find something! I love this hobby!!!
My grandpa told me when those houses were originally built it was just a farm field......possibly an old house was close?? But his yard is almost iron free, so who knows?? I am just happy to find it!!

Just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.
