Had a quick winning hunt this morning! Liam and I went out to the spot where I found the pocket spill to look for more. I had the bounty hunter and got a mid high tone mix and decided to dig since trash is minimal in this area. To my surprise I pulled out this 1901 V nickel! Our oldest find yet! I added a photo of it next to one we got yesterday so you guys can see the color difference and don't think I just used one from yesterday. Lol.
Thanks for looking. HH!

That is the bad thing about digging nickels, they don't come out of the ground looking very good, but still a nice find........ congratulations guys.

Two more years and you break into the 1800's. keep it up.

As many already know, I love seeing those old nickels rescued from years being in the dirt. That's a great. It's a shame what the elements to do the coin. We've used brass brushes if the coin isn't a key date. It helps it a bit and really shows pitting, but usually I'll leave the corrosion on to give it character. Congrats on the oldest coins and the 1800s are just around the corner for you. HH, Nancy
