Got rained out a couple of hours early or I may have got another ...... V's are 1890,1892,1900 and shield is a 1882. Most early Nickels I remember finding in one hunt.Indians are 1892,1899,1886,1891,1898,1890 and 13d wheaty. Ferrous 2 tones all day with the Pro coil and dug every hi peep in heavy nails as several buildings burned many years ago.

Hey Ray! Thanks for the pictures and the stories. Isn't it nice to have a machine you can set up per situation? Congratulations on the finds!!

awesome, amazing, super hunt! congrats!
can u explain what u mean by ferrous 2 tones? I have seen people talking about that but have no idea what it is, how it works, and will I lose my other settings if I try this?

I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by answering this. Terry you can just go to the Audio part of the menu, arrow down to Tone ID, right arrow, then your can change the No. of Tones by using the arrows. After that you can go to Sounds and change from Conduct to Ferrous. That's it. Simple to do and you can swing while in that menu and hear the difference right then and there. When you hit the detect button after making changes THEN yes it will keep that setting until you change it or go back and load up a saved mode.

I just love the part how you can swing while in that menu and "test" without having to go back and hit the detect button. I can't remember if you could do that on the X-Terra or not when changing the tones.

Now if minelab would allow us to set up 2 different saved modes Example( 1 with Multi-Tone, Conduct Sound and 2 with 2-Tone Ferrous) and be able to switch back and forth with a button like you do your quickmask. I think that would be a great addition.

Neb Trac, I am new to the E-Track. What is the advantage to the two tone Ferrous setting? I have always hunted with the Explorer in conductive with maximum tones. I dig lots of nail to make sure.

Nice finds Ray and thanks for the ferrous two tone idea. I've been using the trac for two years now and never thought of trying that. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. thanks again.

I'm probably not as qualified as a lot to answer that as some, but.... Simply stating that the nails will give you a very, very low tone as compared to a nickel, then a penny would give you a higher sound yet in 2 Tone. In four tone you'll have of course 4 different tones depending on the target.

I think the 2 tone, like Ray was using it, would work on an OLD site that the pop tabs or the like are relatively low or gone. In picnic areas I personally use Conduct. sounds. But at an old home site that has a lot of iron in it, it can work real well in All Metal and alert you to a good target.

Very nice hunt Ray! My first silver with the E-trac was a 1877cc seated dime hunting in Ferrous 2 tone.. It was in the hole with nails and an old rusted bottle cap.. Definitely a great setting when your wanting to dig all conductive hits! Look forward to your next post Ray!

Oh and Ray.. Was you in all metal??

Works like a charm in older iron laden sites with little post 1940,s trash as in foil bits of aluminum and those dreaded pull tabs.If you run this way you will be amazed at what some of the ultra low numbered targets are like 4-12 fer. and 3-10 con. A tiny gold cuff link hit at 3-7.I gave to landowner so not pictured.
