stopped at her post office to check her P.O. box, just had the vent fan blowing as it was about 70.when i stopped at the post office a strange smell came through the vent as we were leaving,it cleared up some but when i stopped at the store i popped the hood and started looking for a fluid leak, nothing.

it wasn't a burnt oil smell,or like a hot belt or hose,i couldn't figure it out,so i took her home and we ate a red baron pizza, while it was baking i went and looked again, because i could still smell that smell when i got out of the car.then i noticed something, theres a sheetmetal shroud around the exhaust manifold, and there laying in the shroud next to the manifold was a cooked bug of some sort:).i flicked it out with a twig and solved my problem.

its usually a plastic bag burnt to the converter, or a mouse inside the heater blower! We find alot of mouse nests in air cleaner boxes too!

bugging your vehicle.

first thoughts, maybe a mouse or another critter got caught in there.man,i bet you have seen some crazy stuff over the years.

when i first got out of high schools wife would make him a bunch of egg and sausage burritos everyday, especially in the wintertime,we had propane forklifts then and he would put those burritos on top of the manifold and ride around,he wasn't stingy and they were good:).
