So... here's what I do and I dig very little iron and very deep targets.
The Deus assigns a number from 1-100 for all targets. Iron starting at 1 and making its way up to about 96 for big silver. The numbers exact read out for each target can change depending on the frequency that is being used.
The Deus gives you some great tools to use to get rid of unwanted targets. Discrimination, iron volume and notch.
In simple terms in the USA for the most part unless you're looking for iron relics everything below 30 is crap.
Here is what I do.
Set your discrim to 8 and notch 8-30. Iron volume set to 2.
What you will end up with is a very stable unit with little junk.
Hit a target wiggle back and hear a buzz it's most likely junk. Dig a bunch of them prove it to yourself.
Of course there are exceptions. We all dig junk it's part of it. Make the biggest part of your decisions based on location. Old cellar hole dig it all. Somewhere newer or public think about it.

To attempt that in the setting you are describing is self defeating with the Deus as it loves to sound good on alluminum. I have gold rings which sound wonderful in 18kz from 37 to 70. The best suggestion is to dig em all or dig the ones that sound crisp & clear and somewhat different. Irregular shapes produce a somewhat fuzzy sound...avoid those. It's not an FBS afterall.

MAKEING A PASS WITH SOME GOOD JUNK NOTCHING FIRST. FROM YOU EXP. USERS WHAT WOULD BE SOME GOOD AREAS TO NOTCH !!
MY REASONING IS GO 4 THE GOOD STUFF FIRST AND THEN OPEN UP THEM NOTCHES AND LOOK 4 OTHER GOOD TARGETS WITH THE
JUNK .
