I noticed when in ferrous the iron is a low bump but everything else sounds the same it dosent matter if it a wheat penny or silver dime so what the reason for TTF.

SPEED. Mainly site specific. If you're gonna be hunting an old site...say a field where an old town that's been gone for 80 years, cellar holes in the east, old foundations or the like. You're basically going to want to unearth every high tone.

At a park with the modern can slaw and pull tabs, foil, etc....you're better off in Conduct. Although I will check some very iffy signals in Ferrous at times.

Hey Df,

There is a good read on ttf at the very top of the list of posts.

One item of interest about ttf that I did not get until just recently, that is that when done right it will allow faster processing of signals among trash. SO, no nulling with no reset of the sound either so NO, null. quiet, high, Que,t null ... instead it is, low or high. That allows for you to catch more high tones hiding in the iron.

It would be very site specific for iron filled OLD sites . You may have something there as you are hunting those old homestead areas.

good luck,

just giving you my take on 2TF the reason i use it is because i am tone deaf and i cannot hear all the different tones you guys are on about because of the cut off point it does mean i can hunt by sound only digging the high tones and getting for the first time in my life some great finds it has opened up the world of detecting for me and for that i am eternally grateful i could never do this in conductive as i would be faced with having to dig different tones again and look at the screen i listen for the little blips and then hunt them out it is magic and i think the etrac is great for someone like me thanks for reading my post

.....it maybe a liitle different me and Sug's as we are across the pond but alot of you guys are having some amazing success with TTF.
Sug's and I dig ALL high tones.

The setup means that iron gives a low tone and non-iron gives you a high tone......why would you want to fuss about trying to figure out if it's a wheat penny or a dime????
It would have to dug anyway???.....wouldn't it???.....it's non-ferrous.....it has to get dug!!!

Okay.....you may be a little more choosey in a high trash area but a homestead or farm.......it's gotta come out.

Just my opinion but ... 2TF seems faster and it really makes the good targets stand out more.
I've been running in 2TF for 8 months now - with very good results - it's the only program I use any more.

From what I've seen ... If your hunting at a really old site - and your running in 2TF - and you get a high tone - and it's on the deeper side - don't go by the target numbers - just dig it !

Good luck ! --- Mark
