I like the 105 mod also...Well done!!!...........We all can thank..Mr. Gold Master on the Peltor Mod Idea, and CJC for printing it up. CJC briefly mentions the SIgnal Amp in his book on the Excal also.......Great Idea's, that works.........

John ...where you hunt makes a big difference in how well this mod works..From what I've seen so far ..if PP is deeper in your area then you will see a big difference in performance. I would like to get feed back from everyone that does this mode, and hopefully honest feedback. I can say sofar with using the excal with this mode there is a 4 to 5 inch depth increase in OC, Md. Atlantic city there was about a 3+ inch difference, on the few deep-es I found. Boca Roton Florida, there was about the same improvement, 3+ inch's. One thing I can say for sure, and I have seen a few post that if you hunt in Almetal/PP your coils foot print is only under the coil, {smaller}. {Wrong}.............. With the Amp you will see that there is a secondary field and it does reach out, so a faint target could be under your coil or a few inch's away from the edge. Just remember, this is good for winter Beach's where there are not alot of targets, Sanded in Beach's, NOT trashy area's and in PP only.......... And it's not water proof....

This is the set up I have used for about 18 months, and it does take some fine tuning

............Amp off...........just adjust the threshold on the excal as low as you can hear it, then turn the amp on, like 3/4 strength, then adjust your threshold down again, turn amp almost full, then turn your threshold down again, to the point of a very faint hum..sometimes I even keep it up just a little..more

TC that is one of my new modes to the peltors, putting the amp inside of the peltors shell, got a few other things in motion also..will sent you a email in a few weeks once I have more test. Gotta do another road trip to the beach, ...........Darn....

OBN, How about a small box on top of the headband, easy to change that way and the cup won't slacken from repeated changing of the battery if its inside

went out to the beach today but it was to trashy ti use the amp at all times used to for about 2 hours it does give a stronger target signal but there was to many bottle cups and pull tops ..i have to get used to the new signals ..disc still gives low and high tones just they sound much different ..tomorrow i will take it to a different beach

Great Idea, I think one of the reason I put it on the side when I did was because of the vid cam. To balance things out....I got so use to it being there, with caring the scoop on my shoulder..I can turn it off very easy...when needed...So my new setup will be more advanced but still not perfect..but I do like that Idea, along with some ilelite connectors instead of the RCA...Plugs

.TC you may want to try what kered said, not to often does your head go under...Tc, thanks for the update.......... the amp works the best on sanded in Beach's, so if they trashy, i keep mine off and hunt in discriminate. The good is it does have a volume knob..from 1x to 6x ...thanks guys..............joe

Hey guys! Do you have any idea how confusing it is for me to go from selling about 10 Treasure Screamers a month to 50 in one week? I had no idea what was causing the upsurge in sales until a couple of the customers clued me in.

What you guys are finding out about the performance of the TS on an Excalibur is what we Gold Prospectors have known for years. On the Minelab Pulse induction machines once you put a Gold Screamer amp on you are amazed at the gold you find that you simply could not hear before.

However, along with the orders I am also getting requests as to which wire gets soldered where, and never have cut the headphone cord, I am unsure of the correct wiring, 1/4 inch jack.

So any diagrams?
