Xcal headphone ear pads?

Are there a pair of ear pads that will fit the stock yellow koss headphones that are gel or just better than what I have now? I still want to do the PP/headphone mod, just did not find time to give up the Xcal at the end of last year with the great weather we had....maybe at the end of this year, but in the meantime I would like some pads that feel better, null outside noise and have a more snug/softer fit while wearing shades. Thanks

Not a perfect fit but with some shoegoo, Aquaseal, or goop they will stay in place, 100% better then stock. I've used several and these are the best at blocking noise and comfort.

Thanks goodmore,
But other than the cost,I don't see any difference between the P E L T O R HY80 and the Rugged Gel Pads Ob suggested. How much more difference can there be?...more gel, better material covering?? Do you have the P E L T O R HY80 and do they fit the Koss headphones better, without the glue? I'm not going to pay the extra dollars for gel pads that appear the same unless they would be exact replacement without the glue mod.

Something like this might work well too. I have been debating getting these to see if they help. Only $14.

That's getting down in cost....I'm not looking for spending a lot on them if I'm going to mod the Xcal with PP and new headphones at the end of the year, Thanks AB

If you are in South California you can try searching for Tony Eisenhower.

George I have used those PeltorHY80s years ago, in fact my friend helped me do a video on them, the ones I recommend are better. But if you want ones just like them I have the link

I have tested many different types, the rugged hold up the best, block the noise the best, and are very comfortable.

Double hump like the y80s.. but half the price..And the same thing other then they do not have pel-tor back plate http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/ps/head_ear/dregel.php

Pel-tors, seven years ago they were 32 dollars and the first I tried.

Adam those look just like the Rugged gel pads I use, I wonder if they are the same. I do know the rugged come under a different name but if you try them let us know....Great price..!

Also one thing that will tear any of these up over the summer is suntan lotion, so continues contact will make the skin break down and melt, then leaking the gel out..

These are about two years old, Rugged Brand,

If anyone gets those cheapos let me know. I have been curious to see if they really work. Ive had them saved on my amazon wish list for a while now but have yet to pull the trigger.

I decided to give these ones a try. I only plan on using them till the end of summer, but then again I'll see how well they hold up.
They are very comfortable and make a nice snug, air tight feeling over the ears. Definitely hear the signals better while keeping outside noise out. They are a little smaller than the original Koss pads and do not slip over the speaker housing, so they are glued on with E6000 glue, I've used this before and it is ok for water application.

I sure do wish that someone offered a slip-on pair.

I use the ones from aircraft spruce that joe beechnut recommended to me. They cut noise and make those yellow rascals a bit more comfortable. Its no big deal to glue them on and to pull them off when it comes time to change them again.

I bought them awhile back, and tried to glue them on, using contact cement. All I did was make a mess, and the pads wouldn't stick very well. Maybe I need to try a different glue?

shoe goo, or goop...these you can get at walmart, the only thing is suntan lotion will eat the outer skin of the Gel Pads over time...

I used aquaseall which works very well. Not difficult to remove once the pads need to be replaces Some folks use gorilla glue but I have not tried using that. .

I'll give that a try, Joe. Except for once in awhile using a little on the top of my beak, I never really use sun-block, so that shouldn't be a problem.

This winter, the Excalibur is getting the PP/headphone mods.

I'll have to look around and see if that might be available around here. Thanks.

Found the Gel Seals on ebay for $15 and installed them on both my Minelabs with Plumbers Goop. What a difference...
