Battery holder for a TRX pin-pointer

It could be easier to simply use a solid high drain 9V alkaline battery. I still own all of my TRX gear. The 9V battery is always solid. Sometimes you just give up and move on. Besides, rechargeable batteries are never dependable, IMPO. Seriously. The TRX is used off-and-on for pinpoints in the...

    Hunting the Privys

I did that also back in the 50s. I was using a stashing my found bottles in high grass ditch banks sometimes to save for picking up later. One day I learned the downside to that system. The grass banks were purposely burned one time and all that nice glass was ruined. Those pennies per bottle...

Battery holder for a TRX pin-pointer

As a side comment though, I really like solid alkaline cells in my high end equipment. The TRX isn't really a high drain item since it isn't a PI, but for a pinpointer, a high drain battery is always my choice now. I hardly ever use rechargeable batteries in my gear, unless I am stuck in a bind.

Battery holder for a TRX pin-pointer

WHY isn't the 9v battery not enough?

All that glitters is not gold...or silver.

I remember some time ago, driving on the east side of my town and seeing a glimpse of a bill in the road. I didn't metal detect at all back then but something about that glimpse made me stop, and sure enough it was a $20. Never stop being aware.

$15 ML 80 wireless headphone ear pad replacement

Did those come with adhesive strips on them, or do you need to get glue?

    Equinox Grip

IMPO, the grip angle is about the same angle as the Etrac, but there is no cushiony wrap on the Equinox. I go between models, mostly using the Equinox, and nothing ever seemed to bother me. A thin wrap on the Equinox would surely be pleasing though.

    White's Spectra V3i is a 'Legend'

"That being said IMO both the Equinox and the Deaus surpass it in depth" Really? The V3i goes very deep, with the proper coil.

Has Anyone Ever Painted There Coils

Some paints have lead in them.

Can a detector erase a signal?

That was my first thought. I quickly disabled any auto GB features long ago, and only do manual ground balances. Been doing it that way for 10 years straight now. I do firmly believe that an auto GB can tune out a target.

    Pinpointers

My likes, in order, are the F-Pulse, TRX, and the Carrot. I carry the F-Pulse and the TRX in tandem now. If I could only carry one, it would be the Fisher F-Pulse. The Deteknix X-Pointer for $89 new is a very good bargain.

    E-trac pattern editing

Frankly, we don't get much detail from posting a blanketed instruction user manual about the Etrac. Editing the patterns on an Etrac needs to be more precise, and a link should be a direct link for the screen editing. Have tried looking at that Minelab link to trim my ETrac patterns over years...

    Shrinking metal detecting locations

I never figured I would make up my travel expenses/gas with finds so I don't let gas prices worry me. My close hunt spots? I have worn them out. I find it hard to even hunt them these day now. That is just the way I am.

Those 3D printer battery packs which use 18650 Li-on batteries, from Ukraine, are a great package.

I run my Whites units wide open, if the EMI is no issue. I say, "No, you can't damage it."

Do you think it's worth fixing an old pair of original grey ghost headphones..

There is a little science and research to finding ear pads other than the manufacturer. I went thru this just recently searching for pads for my older set of TROND headphones, which BTW is the same cup size of the Minelab B80 head phones. Minelab gifted me with a set of pads, KUDOS ML! I did...

    White's Spectra V3i is a 'Legend'

Sounds like somebody already answered the questing during full reset and said yes to "Recalibrate", against the warning.
