    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

They're pretty good until about 200,000...then the front end needs some work. Most injector pumps are gone by 250-300 at best. From what I've read, I got about the max out of mine at 285,000. It started getting hard to start when hot....that's an indicator. Since I spend so much time off the...

    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

Heck, Ron, that's just broken-in...LOL. The history of mine was front wheel bearings at about 200,000, with front brakes. Then a complete rebuild of the engine accessories, including rebuilt injector pump, vaccuum pump, brake booster, alternator, etc., around 285,000. Then a tranny rebuild...

    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

I just hauled a 3,200lb camper, with another 900lbs on the flatbed of my '01. Absolutely no problems at all. Handled easily and averaged 14.8mpg at nearly 8,000'. Were running around the South Pass Wy area. Never got below 6,500' the whole trip, until we left Wyoming. Had a blast. Elk, mulies...

    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

Sounds pretty good, Ron. Be sure and let us know how it works out. Apparently, they solved the timing gear problem. All else I heard was pretty good. No way it's going to match your 01....01 is what I drive, too, and love it. Over 354,000 miles and still going strong. On a trip to South Pass...

    Anybody run a Ram EcoDiesel?

Good engines, but the older ones had a fatal flaw...don't know if the factory ever fixed it. One of the timing gears was simply pressed on the shaft. Under heavy loads, or higher rpm's they sometimes slipped. When they did it was complete destruction. A company in Salt Lake was, at one time...

    Tdi sl batteries

Build a 4-cell lithium-ion pack for it. Buy an adjustable charger and limit the charge to 16.0 volts. The pack should last for at least 2,000 charge/discharge cycles. Jim

    Whites Tdi sl query

Yeah, the GB can change the response for various targets. The GB can change the tone response from hi to low, depending on where it is set. Jim

    Whites Tdi sl query

Depth is determined by the current being delivered to the coil, in a PI. GB always looses some sensitivity, and they're is no discrimination of iron with the TDI series. The '17 model has the 2nd Reg Sniff "increased sensitvity mod done at the factory. Should be a good unit. Jim

    Glow orange under uv light

Probably calcite, though it can have many different colors depending on the chemicals within. Orange is a very common color in fluorescents. I was just down around Winnemucca, Nevada, and the ground was covered with orange fluorescents. Nice finds in any case. Jim
