SEF 10x12 died today(kinda).... That makes 4 white ones.

My sef 10x12 was useless. It wouldnt pick up a can at 12" air testing it could see a penny at 1" air testing, barely. This was the most important hunt I have done in years. I payed the homeowner $50 to hunt his small back yard. :rage: I hunted with my 5.3 and my 12x15 and the 4x6. At least...

Real opinions needed. 15x12 sef or 10x12?

Yes it is fairly heavy when compared to all other available coils for the v3i. I can swing the 10x12 all day, but the 12x15 is to heavy to do so comfortably. I can do it but it becomes a burden to hold up(6 hour hunts), I have used the old black one for day hunts, to heavy for my liking. I am...

Real opinions needed. 15x12 sef or 10x12?

Get the big loop if you have any fields. Get the 10x12 for house lots. You will need a swing helper harness thingy with the large coil. Unless you only hunt for an hour or so.

Awesome 18k Gold ring with the first day out with 12x15 sef.

Thanks for the heads up..... I got a couple of different coils for it. I have half a dozen or more. Each one for a different mood.

You got a good coil. Don't worry about the depth reading, just dig all repeatable targets. Nice gold.

Real opinions needed. 15x12 sef or 10x12?

How much trash? I use and need both.

    This is the V3i machine?!?

This is great to hear. Just wait until you get a half dozen coils and start experimenting with them using single frequencies and finding which targets group best with each coil and filter. I think the v3i is ahead of its time by about 7 years, if it had launched with an 10x12 sef...

    12x15 SEF For V3i

EMI can really cause havoc and it something that these coils have trouble with. I think the issue I have with pinpointing is that the remaining targets in my sites where questionable with other coils. The orientation of burried items was causing skewed signals. Sent from my Crummy iPhone

    12x15 SEF For V3i

I cannot tell you I gained more depth. However I gained 75% coverage and much better behavior in iron infested areas it is really a no brainer for me. All my areas are trashy. However the super 12 has pulled silver dollars sized coins at 12" for me in the past. In air testing I gained 1-1.5"...

Awesome 18k Gold ring with the first day out with 12x15 sef.

You may actually be correct. I have found half a dozen pieces of jewerly in this area that have been broken or tossed in the garbage dump. There is such a thing as being "stupid rich", back in the day.

Awesome 18k Gold ring with the first day out with 12x15 sef.

Thanks you guys. I love sharing finds. I went back and took 3 shovels of dirt and rinsed and sifted. No stone to be found anywhere.

Awesome 18k Gold ring with the first day out with 12x15 sef.

The only one I use anymore. "None" of the others found gold like the v3i. I got 2 gold plated items today and am headed out to find some more in the minutes to come. I hunted in our hunted out field and pulled another half dozen coins out. No silver, but still deep quarters and clad. The gold...

    Another Victorian Gold ring ...!

I figured I would share this with everyone and not just the v3i forum. Its just a real pretty ring. Found at around 5" with the 12x15 sef and the v3i. Its 2.5 grams of 18k. Theres a more detailed writeup in that subsection. 2nd victorian gold ring for the last 2 hunts.:clapping:

Awesome 18k Gold ring with the first day out with 12x15 sef.

I cant believe it. Anther gold ring today. Victorian beauty, I thought it was going to be a crusty zincoln penny 5" down with iron masking it. It was in the side of the hole and I have to go back and sift the dirt and try and find the stone. You have to dig them pull tab signals.:clapping: I...

    What coil should i ........

My 5.3 is really good in trashy yards. But for really bad areas you need a 4x6. I dont know what you are doing wrong but the v3i will find a penny at 5-7 inches with nails in the hole and lock on pretty solid even with the 5.3. You either have a bad coil or you have serious EMI. Try using mixed...

    I am getting a V3i!! Coils?

You are going to be thrilled. Get used to swinging slow and digging allot! That 4x6 is a great coil to have and is one of many you will want to have.

    I am getting a V3i!! Coils?

Not only that Larry, but make sure the seller can run the gain at 15 with overloading and that he gives you the signal and noise percentages. The early SEF white coils where horrible in quality control and it was hit or miss.

Old logging camp gold v3i and SEF 10x12:clapping:

Yep Rob, its the white one. So many targets dug over the course of the last 3 weeks. Nothing lacking for depth, I find the detector goes deep enough to find any coin sized targets at 5-7" with a gain of 4-6. The SEF has a very narrow search window, like a razor blade. In the open pasture areas...

Old logging camp gold v3i and SEF 10x12:clapping:

Well it has been a while since I felt I found something worth posting. Our hunting team consisting of ME my wife and friend "V", have been hunting old logging camps and old settler locations. The areas are loaded with brass and countless ferrous targets, but seldom have any good coins. Running...
