    Thinking About Down Sizing

    The E-Trac is still my go-to detector for cherry picking coins at extreme depths. I've owned the Equinox 800 and currently the XP Deus 2. If I've cleaned a site where my E-Trac no longer produces, I have found nothing that will.

    I would say it is more likely that the surrounding has changed than the target rising to the top. Ground minerals are constantly changing.     Never was much of a Fisher fan. They were too noisy for my likes, but then the majority of today's new detectors are chatterboxes in my opinion.

    Decided on the Equinox 900

    I'm about to pull the trigger on either the 900 or D2. I have watched a lot of videos but am still on the fence. I hunt mostly tot lots & parks/schools. I loved the ergonomics of the Deus I. For those who have made the same decision, are you happy with your choice? What was the choice? Thanks

    I prefer my Garrett Carrot, but it tends to interfere with my Simplex so I also have a $99 Nokta Makro pointer. Works fine as well.

    Can anyone tell me the difference between 2.77 and 2.78

    I downgraded to v2.77 and didn't like it. Saw no difference in depth other than no VDI on the really deep tones Very erratic sound. Reminded me of the old Firshers.

    Can anyone tell me the difference between 2.77 and 2.78

    1 minor revision. Generally a maintenance change. My understanding is 2.78 has better stability in the VDI numbers by suppressing the jumpy numbers of deeper targets. It says it goes just as deep in audio, just no response on the display.

    Shrinking metal detecting locations

    10 minutes will get you from one side of town to the other where I live. My shrinking space is from half a century of detecting it. I hut mostly gold at tot lots & schools now because they keep replenishing.
