    Equinox detectors (?)

Advantages are lighter weight, better ergonomics, easy to navigate menu system, large target screen, longer battery life, faster recovery speed and the ability for selectable frequencies with just the touch of the button without having to go through a menu system. The equinox menu system is the...

    Yippie Hot Dogs! NMDD!!!

Well in the park that's what your gonna find. Even with a smaller coil. I would just take the time and learn it. I run mine like this Field 1 all tones horse shoe on recovery speed in the stock setting to start with. Noise cancel and take off. I do not notch or use disc as I want to hear...

    Equinox 900 owners

Sounds like a typical coiltek coil.....I wish you well!!! The 6 inch equinox coil is deeper FYI. Enjoy your new 900!!!

It should calm down from my experience in a higher frequency .....it did for me anyway....ok keep us posted!!

Well you will probably use the eq900 more than the xterra I believe. It is a good one. I would like for you to try the elliptical coil 10x5 on the eq900 and tell me if it runs stable in multi iq or is more chattery with a sensitivity setting at 20 or above. Keep me posted as I am curious

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Go back and re read my response. I said it id's more accurate on deeper targets and runs better in higher mineralization. No nothing is inaccurate in what the machine is telling you. The unit itself cannot show 2 id's at one time so it has to average out both signals to give you an ID...

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Well, I am glad that I didn't put my foot in my mouth for a change!!
  8. bigtim1973

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

No because you have 2 or more frequencies running at once and the filters and processor has to catch up to the signals being fed into it and turn that into a probably vdi. Alot of times it is just averaging out a number with a lower id such as a coin next to iron. So with less being processed...

You are welcome sir!! Where in TN are you?? I am in Dickson

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Running smf freq, the benefit is being able to ID more correctly on deeper targets in milder ground and or being able to penetrate deeper in higher mineralization where a single freq unit would struggle. You can practice this by going back and forth between one of the smf programs such as...

    Equinox 900 owners

I just went back and looked at the messages between Chris and I on the coiltek coil he bought from me. He was able to crank up the 4 and 5 kHz to get it to quiet down some. You can do whatever you want to but I believe personally the minelab coils just perform better and is a safer bet...

Save your money on the coiltek coil I am gonna go ahead and spill my beans on that coil. Some may give me some feedback on my opinion here but this is the truth on my experience with the coiltek coil The 10x5 coiltek coil is much more prone to emi on my eq900. The 6 inch coil that is...

Minelab X Terra Pro vs Xp Orx

What woodbutcher said is exactly how I feel about the orx and xtp. Xtp is more geared as a coin and jewelry hunting unit you can take to the beach too. The orx is very good for field work and in the woods. If you are a relic hunter and wind up with the orx get the white hf round coil. Great...

    Equinox 900 owners

Yes sort of....it is a round carbon fiber shaft. Plus it feels lighter too....not much but you can tell a difference. Oh your gonna like it if you get an eq900..the numbers bounce on the xterra pro the deeper the item is but with the multi iq on the eq900 the numbers will only vary slightly...

I like the heck out of mine. I do not know if you used an eq600 or eq800 but, everything I like about the eq900 is what I wanted or thought was missing on the eq600 I owned about 2 or 3 years ago...maybe more. 1. Better made stock control rod set up. It is light, not wobbly and easy to adjust...

Thinking of getting a new detector, Equinox 600

Richard at backwoods metal detectors which is a sponsor here in findmall and also a dealer I have made several transactions with has a good preowned equinox 700 for sale right now at a very good price in the classified section of this forum. Here is a link to that unit...

Thinking of getting a new detector, Equinox 600

I saw your post on another forum and replied there as well but.....to be honest I would seek out the legend myself over the eq600. Due to the fact of the single freq use of 4 10 15 20 and 40 on the legend is selectable along with multi freq where as the eq600 is only 5 10 15 selectable single...
