What did I do to my Anfibio?

I’m not familiar with the Anfibio but most detectors that I have used will become unstable when the gain is set to high, especially many of the models on the market. I usually start out low on the gain with little to no numbers notched out, start running the gain up until the detector becomes...

Tell me about your sand scoop.. am looking for one

Mine is a RTG 2 piece as well. It is a little heavy, all stainless including the handle. But it is tough and I like it for traveling.

    Check that clad!

It is a shame you are not sure where you dug it up. Might be more laying around. Don‘t find many of those any more.

    Gold Kruzer

Thank you for your in depth review of the different modes. Having relocated to Idaho 3 years ago I’ve become more interested in tiny yellow rocks 😍 and jewelry more than old coins in the southeast US. There are a few old coins laying around to still be had here as well. The 6” coil for my Nox...

    Digging Tool

Very nice, come back and report on it after using it for a while. I had one similar to it. Forgot to take it out of my backpack while going through security at the airport. Of course they found it and kept it.

    Metal detector false positives

Some models of detectors get real chatty in some soils when the sensitivity is high. Play around with your settings and may be turn down the sensitivity lower than you usually run it in places like your yard. HH

    Looking to buy

The MX5 comes with dust cover, head phones and the stock spider coil. The 4 x 6 dd shooter coil and SEF Wss 5x10 dd coil can be purchased extra. I’ll take $300 for the detector. Kind of hate to sell it but I will let it go. Love the MX5. I had the MX Sport and honestly the MX5 was simpler to...

    MX5 Issue

You can look on the bottom of the battery box or in the manual and try a factory reset also.

    MX5 Issue

The only issue I ever had with the MX5 was battery contacts not making good contact. Check out the contacts inside and make sure the battery box is snapping in completely. only Other thing that happened was I must have loosened the cable connector on the detector just a little screwing on and...

    Foot wear dry and wet.

So suggestions for prospecting boots, waders and such? What do you prospectors wear in and around streams and rocks?

    Need new machine and suggestions

You made a good choice, especially if you don’t nugget hunt. The 800 will work for nugget hunting but there are better gold detectors. For coin shooting the Nox is hard to beat with what is on the market.

    whites mx sport

The Sport is a great single frequency detector. I was also used to running the MXT and MX5. First few times out with the Sport I tried to run the sensitivity around 8 and was picking up all kinds of ground noise. Finally figured out to try factory settings until I got used to the Sport. Rarely...
