    Little Sunday Digs

Got out today for a few hours, dug some scrap lead, cool spigot, sad little Eagle Cuff and I ran into a area where I got the 3 pinfire casings, then dug the jewel of the day, a 1852 3 cent piece, 1st one I've dug in 40 years of detecting!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! HH Mark

    Sunday Stroll

Out yesterday showing a buddy the ropes of the X-Terra. He really is interested in relic hunting. Went to a place that he had got permission on and we had a fair day. Found a few 3 ringers, pistol balls and this sad little guy, buttons just don't come out of the ground like they use to 10-15...

    Out Last Weekend...Seated Please...

Went to my favorite iron patch, always seem to pull something out of there. Union Camp, lots of buttons and at least 1 plate have come out of there. Got a choppy high tone in the middle of the nails and pulled out a 1843 Half Dime. These are little boogers of coins that read low on the ID when...

    65 Bullets In The Hole!!!!

Got out today with a buddy to a early CW campsite. Using the X-70 with the 10.5DD HF coil, I got the un-mistakable sound of a deep bullet. Dug a plug, 12" down I recovered a .69 cal minie. Rechecked the hole and the rest is history, 65 bullets out of 1 hole. The 3 ringers still had powder in the...

    Weekend Hunt

Tally from the weekends hunt. Dug some Merrils, nice Ringtail Sharps and a .36 tear drop. Most of this was found in a 30x30 foot spot on a very rocky slope. Note the very well preserved square nail !! The X-Terra 70 with the 10.5DD 18.75 works as usual for the relics!!!

Tip For Those With The 10.5 DD Coils

Sunray has coil plugs that fill the open areas of your coil so it's easy to use in taller grass and stubble. Our coils are the very same mold that was used on the 1st Explorer series detectors. Check them out, I've been using them for a few years and they are great!!! Coil Plugs

    Switching Back To The X-70:minelab:

I've had both the X-70 & the 705's, for some reason, I just like the 70 better. To me, the 70 has the same performance as the 705. I really have 2 of them headed my way, a mint SN 00349 and a later SN 05866. Both will get the straight rod set up and one will always have the 10.5DD coil on it. I...

    Straight Rod Setup

For those interested. Whites P/N 500-0288-1. $19.95 You just have to change the clip pin hole 180 degrees to work on the Xterra. I like it because to me, it helps balance the 10.5 DD coils better. Mark

    Been Awhile Since I've Posted............

Got out with the 705 and the 10.5DD MF coil this last weekend. Even in dry, rocky ground the 705 never fails. I have used the 70/705 since they came out, wandering to other high end machines a few times, but always gravitating back to the 705 because it really, really, delivers the goods as far...

    Yesterday's Hunt

Got out before the heat set in. Fresh cut hayfield at the ol' mill site. 1st brass at the site, was a small camp, 2 of the coat eagles were roached as usual, but got a vest size and a spur piece! Mark

    Coil Cable Spliting

The cable on my 8" coil for my 1236 is splitting in several places, has anyone else seen this? Can Fisher replace the cable? Short of wrapping the whole cable with black tape what else can I do? Thanks, Mark

    Nel Coils On The F-70

Anyone have any luck with them? I have a Hunter 8x12 on the way and hope that is a little "tighter" than the 11" DD. I had Sharpshooter on my T-2 LTD and it sure made a difference as far as EMI was concerned. I have had a few of them on other machines and they are really built well and have...

    2nd Hunt Of The Year
