    AT Max spare configuration possibility?

Wonder if a second AT Max will be available for purchase without headphones so that it can be configured with a different coil but share the same one set of wireless headphones, allowing the user to switch back and forth during the day or from hunt to hunt without having to buy another package...

    Straight shaft aluminum

I've searched through many, many straight shaft threads. What I've seen is 7/8 aluminum for making a straight shaft. Is all 7/8 about the same? I can only find it here locally at Grainger. Does wall thickness vary and thus inside diameter differ? Thanks ahead for any advice or information.

Got a new CTX, what next?

Ok, I have the new CTX and have been reading the manual and reading all the posts I can find...usually late at night. Now I'm prepared to unbox the detector, ha. What's my first step? Once I have it put together do I need to connect to my computer and immediately update the software? And how...

    Auto vs Manual Sens

Can you get maximum depth in Auto or do you have to learn what to set manual sensitivity at to get the deepest targets? Thanks, Ray Hogan

    Posting pics from iPhone

Got a great tip the other day. You can shoot a real nice closeup picture of say a coin by using your cell phone camera and a jeweller's loop. Now, does anyone know an easy way to insert a pic from an iPhone camera into forum text? Thanks, Ray Hogan

    Attaching photo from iPhone

Is it possible and if so, how do you do it? I used Mike's tip below when he photographed the Barber dime he recently found and it worked great. Thanks for any help. Ray

    First Etrac hunt

Well, I met-up with a couple of detectorist-friends for a short hunt last Friday. Still getting over a broken heel so I stayed close to the truck and slowly hobbled over an area that the other guys had been pounding for several previous hunts. First couple of targets were shallow can slaw as I...

    Solid-Bottom coil cover that works!

Maybe this has been posted before, but I wanted to post it again. Thanks to BarryNY for the tip. The Tesoro 11" solid coil cover fits perfectly over the Etrac pro coil and cover and makes it a "breeze" to skim through stubble and weeds. Also, it comes off easy enough to keep clean on a...

    "Solid-Bottom" coil covers

Does anyone know of a "solid-bottom" coil cover, maybe from another detector company, that will fit the Pro coil or the Sun Ray X-8? Thanks, Ray Hogan in Waco, TX.

    New user with questions...

Got my new Etrac and Sun Ray probe. I've read Andy's book multiple times, watched all the You Tube videos, and read the forums. Still have at least three more weeks on crutches with the heel I broke back on January 7th. I'll be putting the detector together and playing with it indoors, but...

    Pinpoint?

Watched a youtube video last night that showed an Etrac demo with an iron square nail next to a small gold ring. Guy was showing how to locate the ring when it was next to an iron target that was discriminated out (nulled-on). The strange thing was when he went to pinpoint mode and showed it...

    Kind of a unique situation...

Well, I'm ordering a new Etrac this week. Most of the local areas around me have been pounded and although there might be some "virgin" ground every once in a while, most is trashy or heavily worked over. So, I'm going to try an Etrac and eventually slowly work over areas that other hunters...

    Digital Meter and various coils?

Does the digital meter maintain its accuracy with different coils such as WOT, SEF, Sunray, etc? Thanks, Ray

    Sovereign Cables

Is it possible to get Sov cables of varying length...possibly from Minelab...or how do you go about getting coils with shorter cables, or the digimeter with a much shorter cable, etc. Trying to chest-mount and reduce all the coiling. Thanks.

    The Sov on land....

See a lot of praise for the Sovereign at the beach. Who uses it as their primary "land" detector and why? Thanks, Ray.

    Chest mounting Excal?

Does anybody chest-mount their excal? I've tended to chest-mount control boxes from other detectors I've used and was wondering if anyone had a good way to do this with the excal...thanks, Ray Hogan in Waco, TX.

    Looking for a coil cover...

Does anyone know of a "solid bottom" coil cover that would fit the 12.5 imaging coil? Thanks, Ray.

    Sizing feature

Wondered how well the sizing feature was working and to what depth it appears to remain accurate?

    Got my new Etrac

Etrac just arrived. Will give it a good testing this weekend. I've got an interesting site at a nearby lake used mainly for fishing. It's a few feet low and I hunted the shore last weekend. Dug 35 to 40 large lead sinkers, most at 4 ounces or more. Did manage to pull out two nice silver...

    New E-Trac

Well, for the most part, it was this forum that finally wore me down enough to order a new E-Trac, which I did this morning. Now my question, which has probably been addressed countless times before. As far as smaller EXcelerator coils .... I'm debating between the 6" round or the 4.5x7"...
