    1840 Largie

Quick hunt in a new area, found 6 wheaties, 2 musket balls, a sword scabbard tip, a barber dime and this holed large cent. I'll post the scabbard tip later, still have to clean it up a bit. This weekend I am detecting a farm that has been in operation since 1650, can't wait for this hunt.

    1/2 reale and woods hibernia

Happy fall... the second best season for detecting. Found some bale seals, musket balls, flat button, etc last weekend. I also found this nice half reale and a destroyed Woods Hibernia. I recently got permission to hunt 500 acre farm that has been active since 1637, I should be hitting that...

    1776 Massachusetts 7th Regiment Button

This was a lucky save.... wouldn't have been much longer before this one disintegrated. Pewter buttons don't hold up very well, but as long as you can get an ID it's all good. Gotta get some elmers glue and 50-50 this one to keep it together. found an 1803 Draped Bust penny as well but this...

    Van Buren hard Times Token

I thought this was a Large cent when I pulled it, I was pleasantly surprised when I cleaned it up and saw that it was a token. It has a good deal of wear/corrosion but still held up pretty well.

    1809 400 reis

Hey whats up safarians! Hit a couple of new spots last weekend, about a 3 hour round trip but its nice to get to some new areas. First cellar hole looked unbelievable, pasture walls everywhere, about 3/4 mile into woods, but produced only a button and some oxknobs. With little time left in...

    My LARGEST coin to date

Hey what's up fellow safarians. Spent 5 hours in the woods Saturday, I found about 20 shotgun shells, and a bottlecap. My last signal of the day was a screamer, figured it was a can. 8 inches or so down I pull a large round disc that was bigger than a silver dollar and twice as thick. At...

    Last months winners

Hello again fellow safarians! Been a while so I'll just post a bunch of dirtfishing porn from the past 8 hunts. There are some really interesting / diverse finds, stuff all over the map. The best injun I found is an 1864L, nice shape and a key date to boot.... sweeeet! The bullet was a real...

1/2 reale and some other cool things.

Hey whats up fellow safarians,,, here some of the more interesting finds from the past 2 weeks. Just pulled the half reale today... it was the only target I dug in my 3 hour hunt. 2 days ago found a blazer of a seated, man its nice when they come out looking like that. A Ford token from...

    Long time no post

Hello fellow safarians, haven't been on the forum in months. Well here are some of the things I haven't been posting. The large buckle, (and I do mean large.) was one the most unique finds imo, it's a shame that it is broken and missing a section of frame. You'd really have to hold it and see...

    Sundays Safari hunt

Got out with the Safari to a new site on Sunday, only had a few hours of light and we only detected a 100 sq yard area... either it's never been hunted or those that were there weren't very proficient. We found 7 coppers and a a couple of relics in short time. I'll post the pictures later...

    Last 2 hunts with Safari

Hello fellow Safarians, here's some pics from my last 2 hunts, the soil was incredibly acidic so most of the old coppers took a beating, but they are all british coins from the 1700's except one US large cent (1800's) and the barber dime, which was more than likely just a hunter drop in the...

    Some goodies.

Hello fellow safarians! Haven't posted in a long time, it was a rough spring for me. Spent many, many hours in the woods, went to a ton of holes and was striking out consistently. But here are some of the more interesting finds since from the past 4 or 5 months. 1787 connecticut copper, 1723...

    1837 Half Penny

Found this at an old site today, I was hoping for an early US coin but since I've never found one of these and it's in nice shape I was pretty happy with it.

    1802 draped Bust

Hey what's up guys. Haven't posted in a while. Found this draped bust, frock button, and a bunch of tombacks at a cellar hole I hit on saturday. My buddy found an 1836 Largie and a Beatup Connect. Copper. The dent in the draped bust is a cudmark, I thought it was just dented but apparently...

    1723 Woods Hibernia

Went to a late 1700's cellar hole out in the woods on Sat. Area was trashy, lots of beercans, bottlecaps etc. Got a nice smooth 37 and I knew it was a small silver. Below the plug second handful still in the hole... I'm thinking yes be deeper. I find the coin and gently wipe away the dirt and...

    Some recent finds

Hey whats up Safari users. Haven't posted any finds lately so here's a few pics from the past few hunts. The date on the draped bust large cent I can't quite make out, 179? It's got some wear but still some nice detail on the back. The 1831 LC is beat, as so many are unfortunately, but it's...

    First Walker

Well I've been in this hobby for about a year and a half now and I've found barber quarters, barber dimes, seated quarters, seated dimes, seated half dimes, capped bust half dime, large cents, reale, king georges, v nickel, injuns, wheats, silver rosies, canadian largies etc. etc., but the half...

    Air test US Gold coin

Does anyone own a US Gold Coin and a Safari? If so would it be possible to air test one and post what #'s it rings out at? I'm very curious what the tone and #'s are.
