I am for the first time ever Beach hunting in SC. Any tips on the settings for the Manticore? THanks

The South Carolina beaches are severely sanded in, I would suggest using Tom Dankowski's program, but you may need to cut down the ferrous volume to keep your sanity. I use the red line indicator to avoid iron, but you have to keep your passes really short and do a cross pass as sometimes good...

I am for the first time ever Beach hunting in SC. Any tips on the settings for the Manticore? THanks

I would use the 11 inch, better coverage and more depth. if you end up in a high target area, you could always switch back to the smaller coil. Good luck! Charles

Does anyone use the Manitore or Equinox for wet saltwater beach hunting and comparisons on the two.

I have the CTX, the Equinox, and the Manticore. The CTX has better target ID, but I have to use a little slower sweep speed. The Manticore is a step above the Equinox for a number of reasons, primarily the screen that keeps you off the small metal bits/ the rusted out bottle caps, and the...

    Gold...sell or hold ?????

The idea of selling enough gold profit to be offset by the expense of metal detector/coils purchased this year intrigued me, so I researched this topic and found conflicting information, so I dug deeper and this is what turned up: The link above https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-news/fs-07-18.pdf...

    Sovereign Battery Question.

This looks exactly like a standard Minelab battery for the GT, and is represented as a replacement for the Minelab battery in the online ads for it. It should charge with the standard Minelab charger. Assuming your charger is working, either the connection between battery and charger is not...

Flying to the Bahamas, looking for tips for taking the detector

Do a duckduckgo or google search for "carry-on-luggage-size-chart" once you decide on an airline, specifically looking at the international flight max carry on size, as it varies by airline. We always fly American Airlines as we live near the Charlotte NC hub. I have flown with the Equinox...

    Minelab Souvereign XS 2A

I have used several large coils on the Sovereign. My favorite is the Detech 13 inch Ultimate; it weighs about 17 oz, and is extremely deep in wet ocean sand, especially in all metal. It is stable and does not usually false from wind/water droplets on coil. I use this as my standard Sovereign...

Does anyone know the pulse delay range of the ATX?

I am trying to correlate specific "discrimination settings" on the ATX to specific pulse delay settings I have used with other PI machines (what is the minimum on the ATX, what is the max, is it linear in between?). I send an email to Garrett earlier this week, but so far have not gotten a...

new to vx3 have a bigfoot for dfx, was told to lower rx gain

This question is for FloridaRob in particular: How does the depth of the V3i/Bigfoot compare to the DFX/Bigfoot and do you see a meaningful advantage to using the Bigfoot on the V3i instead of the DFX? I know this is somewhat like comparing apples to oranges, but you have significant experience...
