    Digger coil question?

Hi Guys I was just wondering what the Digger coil is like on the smaller silver coins you have in the US? I only ask because I'm curious as to what it would hit like on the thin silver hammered coins we get here in the UK? Many thanks Clive

Back to a 705.....anybody else done the same?

Hi Guys After 3 years of using other detectors, I couldn't resist picking up a good condition 705. I used to run a X-terra 70 and loved it, had some great results over here in the UK, but was tempted away by other flashier models (but always missed the simplicity and confidence that the X-terra...

    1st Roman with 18k coil.

After my sucsess with the little hammered coin 2 weeks ago, I thought I'd keep the 18.75k 5x10 coil on. Glad I did cuz I found this on my very next trip out with it. best signal I had all day....locked on really well at about 22, sounded like it was on edge too with a double response. Hard too...

    My 1st hammered coin!

A great day for me this Sunday! Out on the club dig in Oxfordshire (UK) farmland. Had changed from a 10.5" DD 7.5K to the 18.75K 10"x5"......1st time I've changed to the higher frequency since owning a X-terra 70. Wandered over the 1st field.....not a single good signal. On the way to the next...

Funny thing today while ground balancing XT70

On our club dig today I tried to ground balance in both auto and manual, but the figures would not budge?. I could increase and decrease the GB number by using the plus and minus keys but the machine refused to alter from say 5 or 85 when I tried to auto ground balance. Does this mean that the...

    New 10.5 DD 7.5k coil....getting better!

After a poor start with the above coil/Xt70 rig on my last outing (difficulty with GBing, pinpointing, and over head power cables) this Sundays club dig was a real eye opener. Ground balance was easier, with much lower numbers (around 60) and my 1st target was a lovely bell tone just 10 feet...

    "11 Round Gold Search coil.

I notice in the accessories area of the Minelab web site they refer to the above coil being compatible with the XT models?. Can anyone tell me a bit more about this coil?. Clive

The best way to ground balance?...

I manualy ground balance when coin shooting over ploughed land, re-balancing every so often or when I think the soil looks different. Is this the best way to GB?. I remember hearing that you get a slight depth advantage from doing it manualy? And I generaly GB with the sensitivity set at the...

    10.5 DD's 1st time out.

Gave my new 10.5 MF DD coil a go for the 1st time this afternoon. Unfortunately didn't find anything of note. This wasn't helped by not being able to get a good manual ground balance tone. It went all the way up to 90 and was still not right (never had that happen with the stock concentric?)...

    MF 10.5"DD v MF 9"CON Coils

Hi Have recently got my grubby paws on a MF 10.5" DD coil to see if I can gain a little depth over my stock MF coil. The soil in England is not to badly mineralised so shouldn't be too much of a factor. Am I right in thinking that big DD will have a slight depth advantage, mainly because of its...

    How do you do....

Hello fellow X-Terra users. I've just registered on this fine site and would like to introduce myself. My name is Clive and I live in Oxfordshire in the UK. I purchased a used XT70 about 2 months ago and just love it!. Hoping to gain a better understanding of my machine. I generally detect...
