Need advice on a DD coil for MXT

I had the Detech 10x12 on a DFX, Mx5, V3, and V3i. It was deep, accurate, and light. If I owned any Whites machines, this would be my first choice.

Explorer SE using the Detech 13 Ultimate coil

I took my Etrac out Saturday when the temp hit 42 degrees and had a great three hour hunt. I do dig some rusty iron, but 90% of the time I know it is probably rusty iron. I hunt in spots where I cannot use the pinpoint because of the multitude of various junk targets. If I hear a high tone...

Update of the class ring I found a couple weeks ago....

Most people get into this hobby to with the hope of finding items and coins of real value. Real value is what you just did with this ring return. I have had the luck of returning 6 class rings and I remember every single one. Great job!

That gold coin is "the cherry on the sundae"! Nice collection of coins.

    Legend Shaft

I have the old shaft and mine too is loose. I am tempted to get the new carbon fiber shaft, but only if Notka replaced it under warranty and I doubt that.

    Thinking About Down Sizing

For the last couple of months, I have been using the Legend and a Teknetics Patriot. Last week, I charged the Etrac's battery and headed my favorite park. I hunted two days at this park for about 5-6 hours total. I decided to open the disc pattern and try to pick out the high tones. Right off...

    Another great hunt today...

Holy Cow Felix. Those kids in Virginia must have some money! Outstanding!

    Nice find today....

Felix, it is extremely rare to find a working watch. I have the exact watch and it keeps perfect time. Next time maybe a Rolex!

Great hunt with the 800 today....

Felix, you don't find quarters in those numbers these days. Way impressive!

    Simplex Ultra Headphone Question

I am considering the new Ultra and have a headphone question. Will my Legend wireless phones work with the Ultra? If they do work with the Ultra, can the headphones be paired with two different detectors or will I have to pair them each time I change detectors? I could save a little cash if they...

    Park shoveler

Hopefully the people in charge do not see this person with a shovel. Last week at my favorite park I had a similar experience with this type of digging. I got signal on my Legend that was faint, but repeatable. I knew it was a coin in the 7-9 inch range. I use a Lesche digger and I was digging...

Elmy (Elmer Baker) passed away today

Truly one of the good guys! One of the most helpful people I have met. I will miss his wit and wisdom.

    New to E bike

I like your setup. I bought and ebike in June of this year and love the concept of these bikes. At my age, I can run out of gas just about any distance from home. The electric assist always gets me home. I start out pedaling and when I get tired or hit a headwind, I use the assist. Pretty nice...

Gold Coin Story From T-DUB'Finds Post

For the record, I have never found a gold coin and I am envious of the rare few who have found one. I started this post as to not contaminate his post. I hunt several large parks that date to the late 1890's-early 1900's. They are still in use so you can imagine what a 100 years of all sorts...

    Thinking About Down Sizing

Jim, I feel the same way about my time left in this hobby. My knees are wearing out and my stamina is diminishing almost weekly. Thankfully we have this forum to keep up with the times. I hate to sound like one of those "old codgers", but I guess that is what I am becoming. I truly believe...

Funny how the first generation Simplex is more money

Have you had a chance to use the new Ultra yet. For some reason, I am thinking you are from the northeast. If so, I am seeing rains of the century up there. Hopefully everyone is safe.

    Thinking About Down Sizing

It sure is hard to find a better detector than the Etrac that will accurately hit coins 8 plus inches. The thing that makes the Etrac "head and shoulders" above the new detectors is the ease at how it hits on these deep coins. I just wish it was not so darn heavy. I just had my Etrac repaired...
