    New Detector???

With the recent release of all the new smartphones, such as iphone5, Galaxy SIII and especially the new windows 8 phones from Nokia, Htc and Samsung, its making me look foward to something new again from Garrett. Maybe soon they'll have a new top end detector for us to talk about.

    Apple vs Samsung

Apple carried Samsung to court, and won, for making phones that look too much like the iphone. Just wondering if Garrett had any patents on the looks of the pro pointer? Seems that the pro find looks like the twin of the propointer, although it doesn't seem to present as big a threat to the...

    Metal Detector Prices?

Is it just me, or do some of the so called "Hi End" metal detectors seem a little pricey. I don't believe there is anymore expensive technology in these metal detectors as there is in a smartphone and one of those can be bought out right without a contract for $650 or less. It must be in the...

    Clock on ATPro

I have read on these forums about wishes for the ultimate dream machine and one of the request is a clock. I too, since I don't wear a watch any more since the cell phone and don't carry the cell phone while I'm detecting, wished there was a clock built into the display. Well, since, to my...

    What's in a name?

Does the water proof coil connector on the At Pro coils have a name and if it does what is it called. The connector on most of the rest of the Garrett line is called, I believe, a DIN plug. Also is it VDI, VID or maybe TID when talking about the displays? This is meaningless to most but...

Almost didn't dig this silver quarter

Because of what was in the hole with it. Really didn't sound all that good and the vdi numbers were jumping around, except in one narrow direction I got a good steady hi tone with vdi of 85. I thought this needs investigating . Dug a three inch by three inch plug and out popped this 1963 silver...

Still liking that 5x8DD on the AtPro

Had my AtPro for about 6 months. It was a Christmas present from me! Then I got the 5X8 DD the 1st of May, which is my birthday. (I like getting my own presents!) Below are some of the finds I have made with the 5X8 DD since I started using it. Not that there's anything wrong with the 8.5x11...

5x8 DD scores silver on maiden hunt

My 5x8 DD was in the mailbox when I got home from work. So I put it on and went to this house close by, where just last week I scored this 1917 merc and 1952 rosie. Found these 3 dimes, a 1944 merc, a 1946 and a 1947 rosie along with a wheatie with the new coil. I think I'm really going to like...

Question for AT Pro users who have the 5"x8" DD

Which coil do you use the most, the standard 8.5"x11" coil or the 5"x8" and why do prefer one over the other? Also, what is the weight difference? I can't seem to find that information. I did notice that the specs on the At Pro and the At Gold give each a weight of 3.03lb. I like using the...

    GTI 1500 was smokin'

Saturday's hunt at a circa 1950's house. Nearly all of these coins, clad and all, were from 4 to 6 inches deep. I was using my 1500 and my huntin' buddy, who found just as many coins as I did except he didn't find any silver but did manage a few wheaties, was using his ACE250.

    New GTI

Hey, anyone hearing anymore rumors on a new imaging detector from Garrett. With all the excitement of the new AT Pro and At Gold we seem to neglect one of the best coin shooting metal detectors ever built. The GTI 1500. Even though its been around awhile, it still boast technology that was ahead...

    Question

What is the difference between the All Metal mode on the AT Gold and the Zero mode on the AT Pro?

    Air Test

I like to see all these air test you guys have been doing. I also noticed that several of you have many brands and models of detectors. So I thought there might be some more air test of these various detectors on their appropriate forum. I did a search of the whole forum for "air test video"...

    Did someone say it's waterproof?

Brent Weaver, Garrett's chief designer of the AT Pro, must have been following some of the discussions in the post here on findmall about just how waterproof the AT Pro is. In video four of five , that were just recently posted on youtube, he says, and I paraphrase, "it's waterproof to 10 feet...

    Master Hunter CX Plus

Does anyone use the Master Hunter CX plus? I have been reading up on this detector. It really seems unique.
