    New site, same stuff

Greetings, Been a while. My site has been the same for like 10 years now so I re-did it. The Max Derouen SE and E-Trac emulators and target files, E-Trac Settings file, target ID files, etc. are still available (see Downloads). I'll probably add some explanatory text, but for now: The...

    Program spreadsheet

Hi, I started a full-time job this past Wednesday, so my timeframe may slip a bit. As it stands... - It works like the machine with the ability to "load" three programs at once - Library contains all programs shipped with detector (easily browsable to compare programs) - Storage contains...

    Program spreadsheet

Thanks WestTn. I found that each Excel cell can contain 32,767 characters, so there should be plenty of room for whatever you want to add. The comments are on a hidden tab in the spreadsheet...one cell per comment...3 if you include the original comment used with Restore and the associated cell...

    Program spreadsheet

Here's a look at the new comment system. The built-in Excel comments aren't very friendly for the user or the developer, so I did something different. This allows for easy editing and less clutter. Clicking on a setting title brings up the dialog. You can Save your additions or modifications...

    Double-check

Hi, The V3i spreadsheet is coming along pretty quickly. The following is the current listing of all the settings. If you have the time, it would be much appreciated if you could see if you can find anything missing. HH! Beep ~~~ [pre] DISCRIMINATION Visual reject Bottle Cap Reject Hot...

    E-Trac files

Hi, I haven't confirmed this, but there is some information indicating that the E-Trac "file check" that occurs when uploading files to the E-Trac is in the Xchange program, not the detector. I've been told that a hacked version of Xchange was created and it can upload patterns made on the...

    Program spreadsheet

I am currently working on the V3i file. The collapsible sections were a problem since there are so many of them...I came up with an economical way to manage them without a gazillion lines of code and will hopefully have it out soon (within a month, to be safe).

    Program spreadsheet

Got one program ahead of it, then I will be back on it...also trying to find real work, so my time is not as free as it was. I want it done too! It is done in my head, but lots of code to write down.

    EZEmulator

Creating Minelab emulator target files is not too difficult, but it can be tedious and confusing. I have to re-figure it out every time I do it. So, I've written a Windows app that creates the target .zip files for you. You enter the description and one or both sets of coordinates (E-Trac or SE)...

Thanks Jim - I need the motivation!

    Program spreadsheet

I've had a lot of "life" happening lately and the detecting stuff usually has to take a back seat when that happens. The spreadsheet is all figured out, but I have quite a bit of code still to write. Sorry for the delay. As it is evolving during creation it looks like the file and the machine...

VDI# in ground verses VDI# in air.

A few things can affect VDI numbers. In terms of the ground, in general, it will tend to reduce the numbers and drag them them toward the ferrous side of the spectrum. The deeper the target, the more pronounced this effect can be. I've heard of ground that increased numbers too (highly...

    Beach Hunting

It is v-rated. Haven't tried a non-v 12 yet. From what I've read, the 12 may be one of the more stable v-rated coils and, hopefully, not as prone to drift, if at all.

I chased a V3 user off my favorite site :ranting::starwars:

Lol. I've been out twice in the last 2+ months. Best I've found was a '65 quarter...in my clothes dryer. No idea how it got there, but I'll take it. Both times out were before sunrise and did not last long. Got some rain today though...

    Beach Hunting

Hmmm...it was deep. Galveston isn't mineralized so you get a pretty clear shot into the sand. I will only say over 10"...I was digging craters. I agree with Larry about coverage being more important. However, if you hunt where many others hunt as well, sometimes that depth can squeeze a few...

    Beach Hunting

Hi Bill, Since the beach is large, one of the best ways to up your finds is to cover more ground with each sweep. Super 12 would probably be best for this, although there are other coils of similar size that will do well too (SEF, for example). You will get more depth with a larger coil, but...

Are DFX and V3 coils interchangable?

From what I understand, it will work in single freq 2.5kHz and 7.5kHz, but not 3-freq or 22.5kHz single freq. The DFX coils aren't tuned for 22.5kHz. Please feel free to correct me.
