Yard Permission Yields Big Silver Haul!

I drove an hour from home this morning and got a nice permission to hunt two adjacent yards. I dug 6 silvers and 13 wheat pennies altogether with F75 - 5 Mercs ('34,'42,'43,'44); 1916 Barber dime; 1958 Washington Quarter. Overall, a very productive day! Thanks for looking!

The Yard Was Full of Silver

I drove to a small town 20 minutes from my house where I have hunted recently. The owner of a whole block in the town has let me hunt his property for the past few months, but I had never hunted the yard of his personal residence until two days ago. It turned out to be worth the wait, as I dug 4...

Huge Silver Spill + Seated Half-Dime - Part II

I drove 115 miles back to the old plantation home site for a second hunt today after finding 21 silver coins there 3 days ago. I immediately went to the area where I found all of the silver dimes earlier this week, and in a short time I was able to dig another 8 silver dimes. So the grand total...

    Huge Silver Spill!

I've already posted this on the Today's Finds thread, but thought it might be of interest on the F75 thread. Yesterday I set out for an old plantation site that pre-dates the WBTS. It is about a hundred miles from my house, so I left just after 7:00 AM for the 2 hour drive. I first hunted two...

    Huge Silver Coin Spill!

Yesterday I set out for an old plantation site that pre-dates the WBTS. It is about a hundred miles from my house, so I left just after 7:00 AM for the 2 hour drive. I first hunted two vacant lots for several hours that once were the site of very old homes in the small town near the...

Big Silver and Other Recent Finds

Gold, Big Silver and Other Goodies!

I hunted a site today that is supposed to be the oldest house in a nearby town. The house is a dogtrot (now remodeled and enclosed) that was built in the mid-1800s, and is supposed to be the site of Confederate headquarters during WBTS. I was using an E-Trac with the stock 11" coil. All...

E-Trac Walks the Lonely Streets, and Goes to a School and Park

During the past week I worked some sidewalk curb strips, an older school yard, and an old park. I had a couple of surprises on the curb strips when I found a 1903 Barber dime on top of the ground in an eroded area next to an older school, and dug a 1963 English penny. I dug several other...

    E-Trac Hits the Sidewalks

I worked some sidewalk curb areas this afternoon in an older section of a nearby town. I dug the 40% silver Kennedy half-dollar at 4". It really made the E-Trac warble at a very high pitch, so I knew it was probably over a good target, even though the coin rang-up in an unfamiliar range (at...

    E-Trac Goes to School

I posted this in Today's Finds forum yesterday, and am re-posting it here for those who might not have seen it over there. I took my E-Trac to an area school today that I've been working off and on for a couple of months. I went back today for about 3 hrs. and dug 26 coins, of which the best...

    E-Trac Goes to School

I took my E-Trac to an area school today that I've been working off and on for a couple of months. I went back today for about 3 hrs. and dug 26 coins, of which the best ones are listed below. I don't believe the school has been worked in a long time since I've found 100+ coins there, mostly...

    Pounded Park Hunt, Silver Found!

Took my E-Trac to a heavily pounded local park today, and found these coins. The two Mercury dimes are a very nice 1935D and 1920S (these look finer than in posted picture), and are my first silvers found there. Also found a badly bruised 1950 wheat penny (next to the dimes).

Need to Call Makro re problem

I have emailed Makro on 2 separate occasions about an overload problem with the 11" DD stock coil. This only occurs in 2-tone, not 3-tone. So far, they have not responded to either of my emails (I used the email address from the Makro website, and for the first email I sent it directly from...

    Silver Bonanza!

This past week I searched a friend's property with my Racer. There have been a total of 3 different houses on the site, with the oldest from the early 1900s. The second house burned around 25 years ago, and the owner (my friend's Aunt) died in the fire. She was thought to have had some silver...
