    I ususally run it on bar down too, I get a lot more false iron signals at max setting. If I'm in an open field with little trash I will run it wide open.

    Yours is in great condition Jeff. I found mine near an old farm house that was once owned by a black family. It's kind of rare to find a Union Civil War G.A.R medal down here in Virginia. Union soldiers weren't very popular here in the South after the war, lol
