    Colt percussion revolver combination tool

I almost did not dig this but it had just enough extra in the tone to not be another cut nail. The site is where a pre War house stood on the old main road near a Republics of Texas blockhouse location. Troops are documented to have camped at the old Stockade on their way East.

    Post Civil War Eagle button

This general service Eagle coat button was found on one of my relic sites this past week. The only references I have show a date range of 1875-1920 for the back mark, "Steele & Johnson Mfco. Does anyone else have references that indicate a date prior to 1875? My thought is that this is indeed...

    Vista X Disc

I have noticed that on deep targets in high mineral ground, the detector struggles to give a Low tone on a target that is effectively disc'd out in lower mineral soil. Increasing the Disc amount helps some, but on the deepest targets even Max Disc will still give a high tone. This is with the...

    Vista 5kHz detector?

@RG-DeepTech , Would Deep Tech consider a Vista detector model running around 5 to 6 kHz patterned after the X to be marketable? I think the lower frequency coupled with that type of performance would be a superb Relic machine and an excellent coin hunter in modern Aluminum trash. I realize the...

    Coin cleaning brushes

My daughter gave me a set of scratch brush pens at Christmas. They are made by Pixiss & they work great. The set includes soft steel, soft brass, fiberglass & stiff nylon. The brass does not scratch a Nickle or a copper Cent and gets the crud & discoloration off very well without damaging the...

1st Real Hunt with the Vista X 8" Concentric

I finally got around to having the right spot to see how the new 8" Concentric performs on the Vista X. This is a spot where an old building stood for many years. The ground is very busy with lots of small bits including very rusty nails. Running Sensitivity @35 & Threshold @ 40, Discs @25 &...

    AT Max wanted a turn

I had a chance to hunt with my son this past weekend & wanted him to try The Legend, so I used the AT Max for the first time in a while. I had almost forgotten how pleasant it is to use & effective too. This is on an older site with very little trash & no mineralization to speak of. Most targets...

The Legend in high mineral soils

I hunted with the Legend on one of my red dirt relic sites and it did very well in handling the minerals & iron , finding targets @ 4-6" deep behind the Anfibio Multi, Vista X & Tarsacci MDT 8000. Field mode, 4 tone, M2 , first TB @ 7. Sensitivity 20-22. I am very pleased with the machine so far.
