Hot Today but got out for about an hour

XP Deus 2 with a 9" coil (just learning) and went to my local Park. Didn't go to rerally find anything, just to learn. Same area of the Park I've beat to death with my Garrett; White's; Mine Lab 800; Legend, and now the Deus. I found a Wheatie (unknown date) got a lot of scale and might never...

    Got out yesterday

Got out yesterday in 93 degree heat and only lasted a couple of hours. Hunted around a baseball snack shack and found a handfull of Zincoin's, couple of Nickles, a couple of Dimes and 5 Quarters, and a first for me, a 1971 Kennedy Half. That made my day as well as a large glass of ice water...

    Yesterday's Beat Up Park Finds

Experimenting with the XP Deus 2 using several different programs and mainly running stock settings but with either Pitch or Full Tones. Found a pocket full of clad and Zinc-coins AND a few goodies that required some sleuth work. In the attached photo, from upper left to the right: Old Brass...

Fossil found in a Sandstone formation

OK; if this is what I think it is it's over several million years old. Found while metal detecting a old post Civil War Negro settlement in SE KS.

    My First One Ever

Found a Neckerchief slide for a Cub Scout; I think it's a Bear Cub Scout Slide.

    Today was tough

Only managed (6) coins today with (3) of those Zincolns. The other three were keepers though with (2) being wheat pennies and ANOTHER Silver Quarter. 1942 P. The Legend IS IMO...

    Today was OUTSTANDING!!

Best day I've had detecting in a long time. I really think it's listening to the tones. I will run in 60 tones from now on. I only dug 6 coins, but 4 were better than average. I got 2 silvers, 1 IH Penny, and one Lincoln. They ranged in dates from 1917 to 1894, with the oldest being a Barber...

    4th Silver

In the last 5 hunts, I've found 4 pieces of Silver. Today's find was a 3" deep 1896 P Barber Dime. This Detector is by far the best I've ever owned. I ran the whole time in Park; sensitivity at 28 and 60 tones. Ya gotta listen to the tones. BTW, I found 20 some coins and 13 of those were in...

    Continues to Amaze

The more I use the Legend the more I like it's feel and sounds, not to mention the finds. I hunted at my local Park yesterday and found ~ a dozen coins. Nothing remarkable about that except that 4 of the targets were "weak" sounding and VDI said they were 5~6" deep. I was running 27...

    Love my Legend

I got out for about an hour yesterday afternoon and hunted around a Pond that had a old "homestead" near by that the dozer operator incorporated within the structure of the body of said Pond. The area where the structure once stood is now a group of scrub trees (Osage Orange and the like) that...

    Broach

Got out for about an hour this afternoon before the rain started and found nothing of importance but did find an older Broach. It has a gilded metal body and some "jewels" adorning the face. Down about 5" it showed at 42 on the meter, thought I had a penny. Anyway it's great to get out and...

    Hunted for an hour today

Only an hour because of the heat/humidity indexes. Legend with small coil to the local High School to make a pass close to the concrete outdoor Basketball Court. I could only dig down about 2~3" cause the soil is the hardness of Flint. I managed 5 Quarters (clad) 2 DimesIclad), 3 older...

    Is this a Coral Fossil

Found this in my gravel pile I got from a local Limestone Quarry. Only thing I could compare with makes it look like a piece of Coral. Came from SE Corner of Chautauqua County Kansas. Specimen is about the size of a half dollar.
