1817 - Large Cent & A Foreign Coin Pocket Spill

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Here are some finds from my last few hunts.

Found at a 1800's Cellar Hole in the woods - 1817 Large Cent - ( in very worn condition but it has a readable date ) and three brass clothes buttons.

Found near a very old Steel Bridge - I went back to the old bridge where I found the 1954 - Austrian - 2 Groschen coin a few weeks ago - found two more with the same dates on them !
All three of these coins were down approx. 5 inches - so they've been there for a while - all three were in an area approx. 6 ft. in diameter. All of these aluminum alloy coins were pretty corroded - they had to be cleaned in the Electrolysis bath. A foreign pocket spill in Ohio - kind of strange !

Found on a vacant lot where a house built in the 1800's burned down - Got the 1956 Rosie Dime - the 1910 & 1927 Wheat Cents and the - " The Minerva Carriage Works - Minerva, Ohio"
builder's plaque on this vacant lot. The town of Minerva, Ohio is approx. 30 mile North of where I found this plaque.
Internet research tells me that this horse carriage mfg.company was very active from the mid to late 1800's and was still in business as late as 1901.

Happy Hunting & Happy Holidays ! --- Mark

Now those are some nice finds ETO. Shows the versatility of the E-Trac with it's deep silver reputation in the hands of someone that knows their machine. Congratulations! HH :minelab::clapping:

Very nice finds Mark, those are some nice keepers. Congratulations on the interesting finds.
