1911 Confederate Veterans Souvenir

Unfortunately the condition is dire...

Two old houses from the teens or twenties were removed back in the forties and an apartment complex was erected... Both lots were completely covered in concrete and all items recovered from this site are toast... At first glance, I thought I found my first large cent... :surrender:

The good looking one is for reference as to what this item once looked like...

Interesting find, too bad the condition isn't better. So, are the apartment buildings still there? I assume the removed the concrete?

Awesome find and a great piece of history! I found a 1900 UCV badge that was held in Loisville, KY back then. One of my coolest finds. Congrats!

Nice find Robert! I found a Confederate Vets Souvenir from 1908 that was mutilated - yours looks way better!

That is COOL. I have one from the Macon, GA reunion. I don't remember the year. Good find! Did you dance? :wiggle:

Sure did when I cleaned it up some and started researching... A member of the local ITTHC Club found a great mini-documentary video on the Little Rock 1911 United Confederate Veterans Convention... One of these days, I'll hunt the park in Little Rock to see what else was lost there... Thousands of United Confederate Veterans camped there for the 1911 reunion...

The documentary can be viewed after a Google search for: 1911 UCV Parade on Vimeo
