went to an old site, I am not mentioning where..lol

this place is mega trashy, nails everywhere!!! I tried several different methods of hunting and TTF was the only option where I could get decent signals, and I crawled thru the iron slow as a snail! If you look at the dirty pic, look at all the nails, there were nails in almost every hole I dug, this place is brutal.

I dug all signals nickel range and above, started off with a 1906 injun, then a 1936 wheat, everything was clad and trash after that for almost 2 hrs, then I got a 3" deep nickel signal, dug the hole saw a green disk, flipped it out and it was a 1899 V nickel with a 1899 barber dime stuck to the back of it! Stand up go about one foot and I get another shallow nickel signal. Out pops a 1894 V nickel.........ended on a good note! I don't remember the last day I had a double V nickel day.

This site must of had dirt moved around a lot sometimes you dig zincs at 6" and old coins are 3-4". So you have to dig everything, you cannot go by depth.

Oh Man!! I love those V's and Barbers and Indians......that is a dreamy haul. I cried all day, watching it snow. Great hunt, thanks for sharing your day.

Well done! Great testimony to the value of TTF mode. Interested in the quality of your coin signals. Were any just 2 way, iffy digs? Also if you don't mind, which coil were you using and what disc pattern, if any?

Wow!! very nice finds, that was a good day, I would be doing the happy dance. Thanks for the pictures. -- Randy

yes all were pretty iffy.......I had to do the coil wiggle to separate out almost all signals. I was using the pro coil.........plan on going back with my SEF 6x8 coil. As far as disc. I use the relic screen then I also disc out 01-01 thru 01-30.

I tried my fairly open coin pattern first....NO WAY.......then I tried Andy's coin pattern, no go, still 95% null, so TTF was the next step. And even then I had to move about 4 to 5 seconds per swing each direction. It was one of the worse sites for iron I have been on. It was worse than a field site where an old house has been torn down. I am positive there is plenty more to be found here, because anyone who would try to detect here would give up after 10 minutes. I KNOW because I went here 2 yrs ago with my xterra, stayed about 15 minutes and walked away frustrated! I'd say if someone came here they would need a smaller coil and an open screen to even stand a chance of getting the goods.

Nice job getting 2 v nickels in one hunt :clapping: It's hard to believe that TTF has opened up so many new places for us to hunt.

Nice finds there.
That was a great day!
Where was that place again?lol
