During my lunch hour I have been detecting a former social club which is only a couple minutes from work. Basically I have 39 minutes to sweep the coil and then jump in the truck and head back to work. I have been working this large site for some time now with only several wheat cents and alot of clad to show for it. Tonight though I hit the jackpot in a spot that other detectorists seemingly missed. Everything was going great until a homeless person walked my way from behind the buildings. I assumed he was homeless since he had all the signs of it like plastic bags stuffed full of his stuff, a scruffy beard and beat up clothes ( and walking out of the woods at dusk). I tried to politely ignore him but unfortunately I heard him yell something and I took the headphones off to see what he said. Of course now he had to walk back to where I was and start talking to me. Normally I don't mind doing all the right things to put us detectorists in a good light but when I only have 39 minutes and I am on a hot streak and it is almost dark with no one else nearby it can be a bit bothersome. The man actually started telling me about how all wealth needs to be distributed and there should be no private ownership of land. Eventually I ignored him and he went away... So, until tomorrow the rest of the coins in that hot spot will have to lie where they have been for the past sixty or seventy years.
