Anyone have GLARE issues on ETRAC screen?

I am not going to read all the answers and I am sure this has been covered but... I use anti-glare screen protectors, cut to fit, on all my detectors that have a screen and on my cell phone. (Except on the V3 because they have replacement scerrns and they are cheap and I don't seem to have a glare problem on it.)

I use Palm screen protectors but there are many brands.

I have both the Minelab screen protector and the screen glare product unmentionable on the screen and the cover. I only use this set up in the bright sun on hot sunny days and it only helps a minimum amount. Yes the anti glare works but I need the full protection from dust as well as for glare and I am a dirty digger so I want to cover the entire head when hunting in full sun all day long.

In other areas I don't use all the covers or screen protector. But it helps a small amount when out in the hot hot sun and blowing dust in one of my hunts. I like the screen protector in most cases it does a better job when you are not stuck out in the open all day and can adjust the way the shade works and angle of stance to sun.

Just giving you guys my take on the product...It does help...just not enough in the really hot sunny long hunts.

good luck

Del, I was thinking in the terms of photography. With many SLR cameras you can buy a sunscreen to fit on the end of your lens to block overhead sun glare, so why not apply to glare on detector screen, we are supposed to get some sunshine here in the next few days, I will go out to the frozen tundra and give it a try. I will post here, my results..........NGE

I can't stand those rain covers, I can't see a thing when I use them. I'm talking about a peel and stick protectors like go on an cellphone or conputer screen. You won't even notice it is there. I control the dirt by digging only with my left hand in the dirt. I use the lesche in my right hand and I wear a glove only on my left hand. This keeps my right hand clean, my buttong and handle relatively clean... I do get a little dirt on my right hand but not very much. The handle is always easy to clean but Explorer/E-TRAC faces seem a little hard to get completely clean when they get a little red clay on them... but the screen does not get scratched and there is no glare.

I recently purchased a Sun Ray control box cover and it fits pretty tight and there is very little wrinkle on the screen ( I didn't expect any problems with glare ) but today was my first time to go out with it,and it was a overcast day. I had a heck of a time seeing the screen under those conditions and ended up taking if off. I hear you guys talking about cut and adhere screen covers. What are they called and where can I purchase them. My main interest here is to protect that screen from scratches. Rick "IL"

Yes, screen glare is problem with the E-Trac's - but you do get use to it after a while - no ways it's a big enough issue to cancel your order on a new machine !

Most any office supply store, Amazon, Walmart... any sort of computer or smartphone or PDA screen protector. They don't make the particular ones I bought a 10 pack of but they were a Palm product.
