Barber half dollar from plowed cornstalks

I researched some old newspapers this last winter and located an old picnic grounds used from 1897 to the mid 1920's. It has been farmland since then and recently plowed under with a moldboard plow. I had about an hour to search today. I also found 1886 and 1888 Indian head pennies. They were highly corroded from fertilizer. This is my first half with the etrac. It read 1-47 to 4-47. The new corn is starting to get about 6 inches tall so I will have to wait till later to check this ground some more.

That is an awesome coin! Nice find.

Great looking coin! Congratualtions on the great research...it paid off. I hope you get some more out of there. Thanks for the pictures.
