Big copper! FINALLY!

It's taken many years for one of these to turn up under my coil. A quick spin at the park after work and I got this sweet 1820! My first large cent and new "oldest coin" It was a few feet away from another detectorist's plug and in ground I've been over a million times before. You just never know. The only other thing of note were four wheats and a little clad.

Large Cents are real nice - and yours is older than most of the ones I've seen.
Good job !

Wow - what a find. Ground covered many times before, and another detectorist plug nearby. Amazing. Congratulations!

Good going Nick! I know how you feel. I just found my first large cent this summer after 40 years of detecting. Well that is one we can cross off our lists as a must find. Wow, 1820. Mine was an 1840. My oldest coin. I found mine in a place that I had been over for many years with many different detectors. It shows how how these places are never really completely hunted out. Nick keep up the good work. Ken

That's an old Large Cent!!! Very nice find. Yeah, that's one of those finds that leave you scratching your head while asking, "Now how in the world did I miss that one?!" Great job!
