This is exactly like the one my father owned. He and I used it on weekends. Everything on it is manually adjusted. It weighed plenty but it worked very well.This vintage Garrett detector? A buddy of mine acquired it today and sent me a picture of it. I personally have never seen one like it before and am curious. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its about a '76 or 77 Deepseeker VLF/TR with the retune button. The following year had a dual mode switch and it was called the ADS Deepseeker and an auto tune was added. (they also put a plasticIn the 1970s,Garrett usually put the models name on the front of the control box where the coil connector is.
Manufacturing was cruder back then, it is plastic. Wood is affected by humidity and would warp and ruin the loop. And wood would be very expensive and heavy,Cool, that's the first wood coil I have ever seen.
